Mr. Sloan, seconded by Mr. Mason, then introduced Resolution No. 599 <br />entitled: "A Resolution Commending William Shontz on his acceptance to <br />Membership in_the School Band of America Endorsing the Forthcoming Trip to <br />Europe and Encouraging Contributions to He1p Send Him on This Trip", which <br />resolution was read to Council. - <br />It was moved by Mr. Sloan=, seconded by Mr.'Walker, that the rules of <br />law requiring a Resolution to be read on three separate occasions be'suspended. <br />Roll Ca11; Ayes - Messrs Shaw,Bennett,Walker,Mason,Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />It was moved by Mr. Belzer, seconded by Mr. Shaw, that Resolution No. <br />599 be approved and passed as read. <br />• Roll Callo Ayes -Messrs Shaw,Bennett,Walker,Mason,Sloan &. Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />: Motion carried <br />Resolution Passed <br />Mayor Endress said that he had to have $1501.00 and the Kiwanis Club had <br />paid $50.00 of it and now a11 he had to do was pass the hat. Mr. Mason said <br />that the Band Boosters had paid the balance. <br />Mr. Shaw, reporting f or the Finance Committee, said that the Committee <br />had three things to resolve, that a bill had been presented by.,P7ayf.ield Heights <br />f or repairs to Ridgebury Boulevard and to the best of our knowledge the work <br />had never been authorized and our Service Director has put on the bill what <br />he thintcs was done and this comes to only $150.00.. Mr. Shaw said the Committee <br />recommended that our Solicitor write to Niayfield Heights,'pointing out that <br />this work was not authorized, but we were willing to settle at the figure that <br />Mr. Wieland thinks reasonabl•e and that-we do not pay for any more work without <br />authoiization. Mr. Shaw then-reported that our bills for the month came to <br />$6,605.92:'arid that the Finance Committee, having approved the pay ordinance; <br />recommended that it be passed, - <br />Mr. Shaw, seconded by Mr. Mason, then introduced Pay Ordittance No. 486-P, <br />which ordinance was read to Council. Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Shaw,Bennett,Walker,Mason,Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. ' <br />Motion carried <br />Pay Ordinance Passed <br />Mr. Shaw then said that the Finance Committ'ee would like to get together <br />with Mayor Endress and Council for a session on Departmental budgeting. Council <br />then set Thursday, February 27, 1964, for this meeting. Mayor Endress then <br />reminded Council that March 11, 1964, was set f or the regular budget meeting. <br />Mayor Endress then asked Mr. Wolstein, a representative of the Mount <br />Vernon Estates, who was'present at Council, if he would answer any questions <br />that might occur to the people present.
