Ro11 Call: Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Benttett, Walker, Mason, Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Resignation accepted <br />Mayor Endress then read a letter from Mr. V. J. Busa complimentittg the <br />Fire Department on their prompt response and efficiency durittg a flood period. <br />Mayor Endress then thanked Mr. Busa for this letter and thanked.the Fire <br />Department and Chief Porter. <br />Mr. Edelman then notified Council that some weeks ago The Moun-t Vernon <br />Estates had filed a Petition with the Clerk-to rezone portions of this property <br />and has now filed another Petition which is more definite; that they ask <br />certain parts be c`ommercial and certain parts multiple family dwellings and <br />that Council now has the duty to vote on this rezoning within 90 days. Mr. <br />Edelman then read the ordinance he had prepared to Council. <br />Mr. Belzer, seconded by Mr. Shaw,, then introduced Ordinance No. 841 <br />entitled; "An Ordinance to Amend the Zoning Osdinance of the Village-of <br />Mayfield by.Trattsferring Certain Property in the Northwest Portion into <br />C1ass U-3 and U-4 Use Districts", which ordinance'was read to Couttcil. <br />This Ordinance was then placed upon its first reading. Mr. Edelman <br />said that this ordinance would now be referred to the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission.. Mayor Endress said that he hoped that the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission would come up with some of the answers that Council needs on this <br />matter. <br />Mra Edelman said that this was just to get the ball rolling to see if <br />Council is willing to change or not. A member of the Mount Vernon Estates <br />then discussed the matter with Council at length. <br />Mr.. Belzer, seconded by Nir. Mason, then moved that Ordinance No. 841 <br />be referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission for their recommendations <br />and report. . <br />Roll Call: Ayes - Messrs Shaw, Bennett, Walker, Mason, Sloan & Belzer. <br />Nays - None. <br />Motion carried <br />Mr. Edelman,then reported that the Supreme Court had reversed the <br />Beechwood case and agreed with Judge Hoover's decision: Someone then asked <br />how long it would be before we got a decisiom?.on%ttpa Hig'ki=Rise case and' Mr. <br />Edelman said that a meetittg was set f or tomorrow to set a time f or filing briefs and arguments. Mayor Endress then asked for reports from the various departments, <br />which were then read to Council. <br />4.
