a <br />1 <br />1 <br />N.Iiss Trask was appointed to the Cemetary Committee and as Coua~:cil <br />representative to the Recreation Committee. and MARC. <br />Mr. Busa asked Mr. Boger to ~i11 Miss Trask in onnthe activities of <br />the Cemete~~Z Committee. <br />Mr. Boger stated that a meeting had. been held_on~the 14th to discuss <br />taxes, insurance, and dues:. He questioned if the cemetery shr~.uldn't <br />be tax exempt. <br />Mr. Relic suggested the three communities file a tax exemption form. <br />Mr5oBusa stated that ithe Echo Drive subject be moved forward on the <br />Agenda fo;~ the benefit fo those residents present. <br />~~ <br />Mrs. Agatha Stana~cd, of 690 Echo Drive,~thanked Miss Trask and Mr. <br />Hovancsek for their time and helpfulness at their meeting last Friday <br />evening. The situation still has not been resolved. The $5500.00 <br />per family is too stiff for,the residents and asked if Council would <br />consider helping with the Gost of this road. A precedent could be <br />met but this didn't necessarily mean'it would be wrong. They were <br />in hopes of $3500.00 per family based on Beech Hill paving. She got <br />the impression after last Friday's meeting ghat the residents might <br />consider going to $5000.00. <br />1Mr. Busa asked Steve for his findings. <br />Mr® Hovancsek stated he had written a report, a copy of which had <br />been given to Council this evening, regarding the di~~erences between <br />his cost estimate and that of A.J. Ronyak. He had explained these <br />to the residents at the meeting on Friday. There was a: dozen diff- <br />erent reasons for the cost difference. <br />Mr. Barclay, 662 Echo Drive, said=in his opinion, Mr. Hovancsek had <br />taken the worst condition on Echo Drive and used this as his basis <br />for the cost estimate for the entire road. <br />Mr. Hovancsek stated Ta.is"_~comments were in writing and,. the main diff- <br />erence is in the.underdrains and the 12 inch thickness of paving to <br />get.the best road. <br />Discussion was l~~ld on a possibel decrease in the cost with an item <br />by item review to be made at the next Caucus meeting on the 26th: <br />Mr. Relic questioned Mrs. Stana-rd if it was a general concensus that <br />the residents would be willing to pay $5,000.00. <br />Mrs. Stanarcl replied that if Council could allocate monies for this, <br />nothing could be done witho~.t a legal opinion. <br />Council members apologized for not waking., the meeting. onFriday. <br />There being ~xo further comments, that portion-of the meeting closed <br />and Council recessed into an Executive Session at 8:55 P.M. <br />Meeting reconvened at 10:10 P.M®; <br />
