~~ L' ~,~ Mr. Boger, seconded by Mrs. Hanes, made a motion to suspend the rules of law requiring an ordinance to be read three separate occasions. Roll Call: AYES: All NAYS: None Motion Carried Rules Suspended Mr. Boger, seconded by Mrs. Hanus, made ammotion to pass Ordinance 79-37. Mr. Grogan questioned section seven. Mr. Relic explained that .we would have the right to pay the bonds or notes off. Roll Call: AYES: All NA~~S: None Motion Carried Ordinance Passed Public-Safety - Mr. Flynn said the testing of the Police-Dispatchers is moving along and asked Chief Stevens if he had an up-date report. Chief Stevens stated that the Civil Service Commission is to present the certified list to the Mayor and he is hopeful training will begin in the next few weeks. Mr. Grogan questioned when Joe Wiece will be let go. Discussion was held with Mr. Wiece to be kept on the payroll until the end of she year=..or longer if necessary to assure that new employees awe able to handle the job.. Council would havr the final decision in releasing foe from his position. Chief Stevens stated that we should have complete coverage by August 1st. Mr. Bennett questioned if ;'Lhe part-time dispatchers will be required to have typing skills. Chief Stevens stated that the.part-time would have same qualifications as the-full-time clerk dispatchers. Mr. Flynn stated that the Fire•.Department has been operating with 24-hour coverage since June 12th. Public Utilities and P_hblie 5e.rvice - Mr. Flynn read a report from Mr. Amendola regarding the progress of the new Service Building and the ball field at Clear Acres. Mr. Grogan questioned what the ball field had cost. Mr. Amendola said the exact figures were not available as so me of the work had been dovetailed in with the constriction of the road for the new Service Building. All invoices are being marked and once the work is completed an exact figure will be available.
