~.~~ Ordinance 79-69, entitled: "AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE INCREASING THE COMPLEMENT OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BY THE ADDITION OF ONE POLICE OFFICER." Mr. Bennett made a motion to table the ordinance until the committee brings it before Council. Ordinance 79-69 tabled. Meadowood Sewer Work - Mr. Flynn stated that he was waiting for feed back from Mr. Beatty re our financial situation. The Finance Committee to review the subject. Wildwood Trail Frontage - Mayor Beebe commented that some trees had been removed and weeds cut. Mr. Bennett was in Mr. Amendola's office: when the developer came in with a plan for a house in the area, it was not the wishes of Council to get houses up right away, but merely keep the landscaping in order. Whitehave Cemetery Frontage - Mr. Busa remarked that the piles of dirt that is there should be lowered. Wildwood Trail Concrete - Mr. Feneli said he had two responses to his correspondence with the answers being that no one was going to do any- thing. Discussion was held with Mr. Feneli to draft the complaint so Council could review before legal action is taken. Road and Street Repairs - Mr. Hovancsek said the work on Hickory Hill is pretty difficult on the contractor since there is so much traffic. Council requested Mr. Hovancsek to contact the contractor to see if the work could be completed soon. Mr. Hovancsek reported that a 1" asphalt top would be put on Wilson Mills before winter. Mr. Busa requested a recess at 9:10 P.M. Meeting reconvened at 9:25 P.M. Ordinance 79-58, entitled, "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY BY THE ADOPTION OF CHAPTER 138 OF THE CODI- FIED ORDINANCES." Introduced by Mayor Beebe Mr .. Grogan commented that the Mayor is already Safety Director and the matter was before Council before in ordinance form and turned down - there is no need for another person to be layered between the Mayor and the Department Heads and urged Council to vote nay - he ob- jected to the money and the principal. Mayor Beebe said he agreed with much of what Mr. Grogan said but the title in ordinance form was~all that is being requested. There are other employees with two titles, ie., Eloise Maynard, Assistant to the F1nanCl~ Director receiving a dollar as a token salary, Gus Amendola as Administrative Assistant. There is an inconsistency on Councils part.
