He also thanked Chief SY?ortle, Project <br />Director for his fine work and cooperation with SPAN.' <br />The Mayor commented on the efforts of Patrolman Schutt and <br />Stevens in capturing two would be burglars in a local home <br />and also to Patrolman Stevens for apprehending a bank robber. <br />Both incidents were highly publicized in local and Cleveland <br />newspapers. <br />Mayor Leech is proclaiming May as Spring Clean-Up Month through- <br />out the Village, including residents and businesses. He suggested <br />that the Service Department can be contacted if help is needed <br />to remove excess debris <br />The Mayor read a letter from the Regional Planning Commission <br />advising of workshops for a County Bike Way Plan. The Mayor <br />suggested two councilmen be appointed to attend the workshop, <br />April 29, 1975. He also reminded the Villagers to register all <br />bikes with the Police Department. <br />Mayor Leech advised the Council that Roy Jones had resigned <br />from the Board of Appeals, and to date no one has been appointed <br />to replace him. <br />Several questions had been asked throughout the Village con- <br />cerning the Aveni Ma11 where Jay Drug is located. He commented <br />that Jay Drug is being changed to H & B Stores and a complete <br />remodeling is taking place. The entire exterior of the mini- <br />mall is being remodeled. <br />Mayor Leech stated that the Fire Department is available for <br />fire inspections. These inspections can be very beneficial <br />for all. <br />He also suggested that the Federal Flood Insurance Program is <br />available to residents. Everyone knows the high water problem <br />some areas have especially during the Spring. A meeting will <br />be held on May 29th, 1975 at 7030 P.M. to discuss the Insur- <br />ance Program. <br />He also reported that money has been budgeted for the resur- <br />facing of Joyce Road, Hemingway Road and Robin Circle in the <br />near future. <br />The Mayor commented on a meeting held in March with the resi- <br />dents of the apartments and home owners on Aintree Park. It <br />was decided that the No Parking Signs be removed on one side <br />of the street for a 30 day trial, to see how this works out. <br />Mayor Leech made mention of the midnight to 6 A.M. No Parking <br />Ban on Village streets is being enforced. <br />The Mayor stated that a Directory has been printed and is <br />available to anyone who may have need for one by contacting <br />the Mayor's Secretary. <br />
