Mr. Relic reported that $1,400 had been appropriated in the
budget for the newspaper. However, no expenditure will be made
unless approved by Council.
Mayor Beebe stated that at the meeting with Mr. Bennett and
Mrs. Negrelli he advised that the cost of printing would be $200
per .issue not including the postage, and if "my arithmetic is
correct this amounts to $800. The paper is a good vehicle for
informing residents and would be non-political." The Mayor also
said, "apparently I misunderstood my own meeting".
Mr. Bennett stated that the $200 does not include typing, stuffing
and delivery. He was not against the paper but he didn't want
Village taxpayer's money used for such a paper.
OLD BUSINESS:
Ordinance 74-42, entitled; "AUXILIARY POLICE 'RULES".
Mr. Grogan, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to pass
Ordinance 74-42.
Roll Call: AYES: None
-~
NAYS: Messrs., Barclay, Bennett, Flynn, Grogan,
Mrs. Negrelli and Mr. Schulte
ABSTAIN: Mr. Busa
Motion Defeated
1
Ordinance 75-38, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF
HAYFIELD VILLAGE TO ENTER INTO A MUTUAL AID POLICE PROTECTION
AGREF~4ENT WITH THE CITIES OF LYNDHURST, HAYFIELD HEIGHTS, HIGHLAND
HEIGHTS, RICHMOND HEIGHTS, WILLOUGHBY HILLS, AND THE VILLAGE OF
GATES MILLS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY", was introduced by
Mr. Schulte.
Mrs. Negrelli, seconded by Mr. Schulte, made a motion to suspend
the rules of law requiring an ordinance to be read on three
separate occasions.
Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Barclay, Bennett, Busa, Flynn, Grogan,
Mrs. Negrelli and Mr. Schulte
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mr. Schulte, seconded by Mrs. Negrelli, made a motion to pass
Ordinance 75-38.
Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Barclay, Bennett, Busa, Flynn,
.Grogan, Mrs. Negrelli and Mr. Schulte
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Ordinance ~'assed
[l
