~;~r -2- Mr. Wiley and Mr. Dobson were sworn in by Mr. Byrnes. The Mayor introduced James Robertson, appointed to the Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Robertson was sworn in by Mr. Byrnes. Mayor Beebe stated that he was sympathetic with Mr. Rash and all the other residents on Beech Hill. He urged Council to take a second look at the whole situation. OLD BUSINESS: Ordinance 76-13: Off-Street Parking, was given third reading. Public Hearing date is May 25th at 7:30 P.M. Mr. Barclay asked Mr. Schulte to obtain approval from the Planning & Zoning Commission. Ordinance 76-14: Prohibiting the Operation of Trucks on Wilson Mills. Given second reading. Mr. Barclay advised that Wilson Mills east of SOM will be closed for approximately two months for sewer repair. Residents have been not- ified. NEW BUSINESS° Mr. Grogan, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to accept final plans for the Ro-Nay Plaza. Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Barclay, Bennett, Busa, Flynn, Grogan, Mrs. Negrelli and Mr. Schulte NAYS: None Motion Carried Plans Accepted Ordinance 76-16; Increasing the Rate of Parking Fines. Mr. Byrnes gave a brief explanation of the contents of the ordinance. However, Mr. Barclay suggested that comments be obtained from the Safety Committee before final ordinance is drafted. Resolution 927, entitled; "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO REQUEST TENDER OF BIDS FOR RUBBISH PICK-UP", was intro- duced by Council as A Whole. Mr. Grogan stated that specification should be clarified as to the term garbage and rubbish. Mr. Hovancsek suggested that the correct technical term used is "solid-waste". Specs will be corrected. Mr. Busa stated that the specifications had been accepted by the Public Service & Public Utilities Committee. Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Schulte, made a motion to adopt Resolution 927.
