~~~J <br />-2- <br />Roll Call: AYE5: Messrs., Barclay, Bennett, Busa, Flynn, Grogan, <br />Mrs. Negrelli and Mr. Schulte <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Minutes Approved <br />Mavor's Comments: <br />The Mayor introduced Mr. Martin Comella who was appointed to the <br />Volunteer r^ireman's Dependent Board for a one year term. <br />Mr. Comella was sworn in by Mr. Byrnes. <br />Mayor Beebe advised of the Supreme Court ruling regarding the City <br />of Eastlake, in which residents have a right to vote for zoning <br />ordinances. <br />Standing Committees: <br />Finance - Mr. Bennett advised that this was the time of year for <br />Village employee salary adjustments. A 7/ increase was granted across <br />the board. No other benefit adjustments were made. Ordinance 76-17 <br />will be voted on later in the meeting. <br />Public Safety - Mr. Flynn reported that Ordinance 76-16, Increasing <br />Rate of Parking Fines be put on third reading. <br />Bicentennial - Mrs. Negrelli who was wearing an authentic bicen- <br />tennial costume advised that plans for the July 4th festivities <br />were going very well. She urged everyone to attend. <br />Cemetery - Mrs. Negrelli reported that Girl Scouts will be at the <br />cemetery during the July 4th celebration to act as guides. The <br />hearse will also be located at the cemetery. <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Negrelli stated that Police <br />Chief Hughes of Gates Mi11s spoke on the SPAN organization at the <br />last meeting. <br />Planning & Zoning - Mr. Schulte read the minutes of the June 17, 1976 <br />meeting. <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Schulte read the minutes of the June 15, 1976 <br />meeting. <br />Recreation - Mr. Bennett reported that the Board met June 16th and <br />the summer program was going quite well. <br />Mr. Flynn, Council Representative to the Recreation Board, requested <br />a meeting between the Board and the Finance Committee to determine if <br />more money can be allocated by Council for the 1977 Recreation Program. <br />Mr. Relic stated that $1,500 is allocated in the budget each year, <br />estimating $5,000-$6,000 income. He said that the Village has been <br />very liberal on interpreting and approving purchase orders. <br />Mr. Barclay suggested the Recreation Board meet with Mr. Relic and <br />the Finance Committee. <br />
