~~~J -2- Roll Call: AYE5: Messrs., Barclay, Bennett, Busa, Flynn, Grogan, Mrs. Negrelli and Mr. Schulte NAYS: None Motion Carried Minutes Approved Mavor's Comments: The Mayor introduced Mr. Martin Comella who was appointed to the Volunteer r^ireman's Dependent Board for a one year term. Mr. Comella was sworn in by Mr. Byrnes. Mayor Beebe advised of the Supreme Court ruling regarding the City of Eastlake, in which residents have a right to vote for zoning ordinances. Standing Committees: Finance - Mr. Bennett advised that this was the time of year for Village employee salary adjustments. A 7/ increase was granted across the board. No other benefit adjustments were made. Ordinance 76-17 will be voted on later in the meeting. Public Safety - Mr. Flynn reported that Ordinance 76-16, Increasing Rate of Parking Fines be put on third reading. Bicentennial - Mrs. Negrelli who was wearing an authentic bicen- tennial costume advised that plans for the July 4th festivities were going very well. She urged everyone to attend. Cemetery - Mrs. Negrelli reported that Girl Scouts will be at the cemetery during the July 4th celebration to act as guides. The hearse will also be located at the cemetery. Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mrs. Negrelli stated that Police Chief Hughes of Gates Mi11s spoke on the SPAN organization at the last meeting. Planning & Zoning - Mr. Schulte read the minutes of the June 17, 1976 meeting. Board of Appeals - Mr. Schulte read the minutes of the June 15, 1976 meeting. Recreation - Mr. Bennett reported that the Board met June 16th and the summer program was going quite well. Mr. Flynn, Council Representative to the Recreation Board, requested a meeting between the Board and the Finance Committee to determine if more money can be allocated by Council for the 1977 Recreation Program. Mr. Relic stated that $1,500 is allocated in the budget each year, estimating $5,000-$6,000 income. He said that the Village has been very liberal on interpreting and approving purchase orders. Mr. Barclay suggested the Recreation Board meet with Mr. Relic and the Finance Committee.
