C~ <br />- E - <br />Mr. Barclay stated, "I think the Mayor has every right to inform <br />residents of Village business, hovrever he elected not to}zuse <br />Village funds". <br />Mayor Beebe stated, "he has every right to communicate with Villagers, <br />I elected to use money out of my own pocket to inform the residents <br />where the newspapers left off". He gave a rundown on his expenses of <br />which he paid for: <br />Postal fees $ 72.38 <br />Kwik-Kopy 107.88 <br />Envelopes/Labels 22.90 <br />The letter was not typed by Village Secretary. "In my intent, I <br />thought I was doing right to communicate". <br />Mr. Buses stated he thought the letter was "biased, slanted and dis- <br />criminatory, it was an attack on me and others at this table. Can I <br />use the stamp to retaliate"? <br />Mr. Relic asked Mrs. Maynard what the fee is for the permit and who <br />do we send it to? <br />Mrs. Maynard answered that the Village pays $40 each year to the postal <br />authorities. <br />Mr. Flynn stated he would vote for the motion as he feels the letter <br />was an attack on four members of Council. <br />Mr. Barclay asked Mr. Grogan if the article he submitted for inclusion <br />in the Voice of the Village was political. <br />Mr. Grogan replied "it was turned back". <br />The Mayor said that as long as he was the editor of the VOV it would <br />remain a non-political magazine. <br />Mr. Barclay asked how do you enforce a motion - shouldn't it be an <br />ordinance? <br />Mr. Byrnes answered that a motion is for record purposes only. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Bennett, Buses, Flynn and Grogan <br />NAYS: Messrs., Barclay, Bordonaro.and Schulte <br />Motion Carried <br />Resolution 979, entitled; "A RESOLUTION DETERMINING THE LOWEST AND BEST <br />BID FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO POLICE MOTOR VEHICLES AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY", was introduced by Mr. Flynn. <br />
