~~.~ <br />Jakeway Progress Report: Mr. Relic commented everything is moving <br />with dispatch and he will keep Council advised. . <br />Mr. Busa questioned when payment was to be made to Jakeway? <br />Mr. Relic said after the filing. <br />Ballottlssues: Mayor Beebe commented he had written his newsletter with <br />the worda?ng for the ballot but he was missing the ordinance so he was un- <br />able to use exact wording. _ <br />., <br />,ri - <br />Mr. Avery was to check on the ordinance for this as.Council wished the <br />exact wording of the ordinance used. <br />Ridgebury/Lander Improvements Mayor Beebe commented he had received. a <br />letter from Steve Hovancsek with a revised. figure. of $6,000.00 over the <br />previous figure of $1,000.00 and questioned if Mayfield Village would <br />actually~.be benefiting from this improvement. <br />Chief Shortle commented this was a very busy intersection and the Village <br />would be benefiting from the imp~covement. Mr. Bennett asked why the addi- <br />tional cost and if the $5.00 License Fee monies could be used for this. <br />Mr. Hovancsek stated he had written the County Engineers asking if May- <br />field Village needed to acquire additional right-of-way. Twenty more feet <br />is required 3~ut the License.Fee monies cannot be used for acquiring right- <br />of-way. <br />There was further discussion with Mayor Beebe asking Steve to back- <br />paddle and give Council a.full report on the improvembnt. He said he <br />would be negotiatinggwith the other Mayor's involved. <br />Mr. Avery commented that the present open-end agreement should be revised <br />so no additional costs will be incurred.. <br />Meeting recessed at 9:15 P.M. <br />Meeting reconvened at _9:35 P.M. <br />Mr. Busa questioned the distribution of the Agend'a's to the news media. <br />Mrs. Martin stated that policy has been if a self-addressed, stamped enve~ <br />lope is supplied, the agendas would be mailed. <br />Mayor Beebe said he had written the editors in reference to this. <br />NEW BUSINESS: <br />Ordinance 78-25, entitled: "AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE <br />75-37 AND AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF LAW TO SERVE AS LEGAL COUNSEL FOR <br />THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION", was introduced by Mayor Beebe <br />Mr. Grogan, seconded by Mr. Bennett, made a motion to suspend the rules <br />of law requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions. <br />
