G~ J Discussion was held on the bridge - whether to purchase the Jennings Bridge or have the Service Department build it. It was determined that the best alternate would be to purchase the Jennings Bridge. Mr. Boger, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to reject the bids received. Roll Call: AYE5: All NAYS: None Motion Carried Bids Rejected Mr. Relic said he would need legislation accepting an informal bid before he could authorize payment. Mr. Boger, seconded by Mrs. Hanus, made a motion to authorize the Law Director to prepare legislation to purchase the bridge from Herbert Jennings, Inc. for $4,629.00. There was a discussion on the Village's responsibility to any- one getting hurt using the bridge. Mr. Feneli stated the Village would be responsible. Mr. Grogan: stated he was .not in favor of this bridge as it gave the cyclist a- 3' 6" span .to use. Roll Call: AYES: Messrs., Boger, Bordonaro, Busa, Flynn and Mrs. Hana.s NAYS: Mr. Grogan Motion Carried Legislation to be prepared. East Ohio Gas Request - Mr. Hovancsek staid this subject was dis- cussed at Caucus and suggested Council authorize this work so it could be completec7..before the weather gets bad. Mr. Grogan, seconded by Mr. Bordonaro, made the motion to author- ize the Mayor to grant permission to East Ohio Gas Company to in- stall test boxes. Mr. Boger questioned .if the schedule of where and when the work was being done could be made available. Mr. Hovancsek replied yes, he felt it could be made available. Mr. Busa asked Joe Balogh, of the Ohio Gas Company, to explain exactly what therwork is that they will be do,irig. Mr. Balogh ex- plained that~rthey would be inserting test boxes which would inda:- cate the amount of corosion on the pipes. It is a preventative maintenance measure. Roll Call: AYES: All NAYS: None ~ Motion Carried Permission Granted Bicycle Path on SOM and Twenty Four Hour Dispatchin - Discussion was tabled until Mayor Beebe could be present.
