~,~~
Mr. Busa stated that the P & Z Commission is a branch of the Council and
it might be a good idea to present this before the P & Z Commission.
Mr. Pertz said the reason he asked the question was - P & Z serves the
pleasure fo Council and has the responsibility to review the applications
before the permit is_ssued... In 19.76, the man was issued a permit and
an allocation was made then he was in violation of the Ordinance.
Mayor Beebe said the A.R.B. reviews the drawings and no cross action
between P & Z.
Mr. Amendola stated that drawings are checked to see if they qualify per
code and there submitted to A.R.B. for review. After they approve and
place their signatures on the drawings a permit is then issued. He has
a set of Mr. Butchers plans in his office for review if anyone cares to
look at it.
Mr. Pertz said there needs to be a little mare P & Z and Council review-
ing of the permits issued.
Mayor Beebe said that it should be remembered that the A.R.B. reviews
stacks of plans sometimes 'till after midnight. Totally different
situations arise on every set of plans and a lot of time is put in just
to verify that they are within the existing Ordinances. L aws are
written and we have to abide by them.
Mr. Bennett said he~~as.~unawa%e of the situation that exists and ask-
ed Gus to explain.
Mr.. Amendola replied yes and it has to have the same exterior as the home
and once the landscaping is done he feels the residents will be satisfied
with the appearance.
A general discussion was held on the age of the ordinance.- the alternate
procedure the residents could take to change the ordinance - and .a
recommenda.tion.made that it be taken up by the P & Z Commission. A copy
of the next P & Z Minutes to be given to Mr. Pertz.
Mr. Paul Meden, of 6688 Metro Park Drive, said he was spearing on behalf
of the Mayfield Historical Society who understand the Village has in-
tentions of tearing down the Hall building. They hope Council will
reconsider because of its historical value.
Mrs. Margaret Riedel, Councilwomen from Mayfield Heights, also a member
of the Historical Society, requested the building be saved.
Mr. Grogan stated it was news to him and a remote possibility that the
Hall would be torn down.
Mr. Busa stated this ev~dentally~~is a rumor and was never discussed
publicly. Residents must remember a lot of:.=money is required to
maintain this building and additional parlcing facilities is a
necessity in the future.
