~~'l .
Mr. William Hite, of 6515 Chase Drive,.said for years the problem of the
unpaved section of Beechers Brook has been considered but nothing has
been done and the road is nearly impassable. The road signs direct people
touuse it which only adds to the problems. He would like to ]snow Zahat
action can be taken to get this road paved. Also, no plans have been
started for the traffic light that was to have been put up because of the
traffic increase expected from the Heinen's store. Traffic is a problem
now, what will it be after the store opens. Why ca.n't a traffic survey
be taken.
Nlr. Hovancsek stated the traffic won't increase until the store is opened
and until the volume indicates the need the State will not consider it.
Mr .. Busa said there will eventually be a light, we just have to keep
pushing.
Mr. Hite asked why an estimated traffic survey coudln't be submitted
based .on the other Heinen stores so the State could be made aware o~_ the
need.
Mr. Hovancsek said it can be reviewed:and a minimum warrant volume
established. Once this f_tigtire is met, then the State will let us adver-
tise for bids.
Mr . Bus a suggested that the ~ rzb~j ec±:i,,~~ .-,G~~ ought up at the Heinen' s. Com-
mittee Meeting scheduled for tomorrow night and then ra'~~~~_s.~tion to take
could be considered. '
Mr. Hite asked that further discussion be held on. the Beechers Brook road.
Mr. Hovancsek said a~study had been made sometime ago and the street
should be paved with concrete comparable to those adjacent streets. The
Village would pay for 2/'of the cost .of the intersection and the bene-
fiting residents would pay the balance, through assessment.
Mr. Hite, on behalf of the Aintree Park Homeowners Association, demanded
Council take whatever action necessary to get this road paved. It cannot
be resolved in a gentlemenly manner and felt Council should pave the road
asd assess the benefiting property owners.
A discussion was held with .the Law Director to review the findings of
the previous Law Director. Mr. Byrnes. The~gixestion being if the
Village would be developing private property. Mr. Avery .to report to
Council at the next meeting.
Meetin recessed at 9:20 P.M.
Meeting reconvened at 9:45 P.M.
There being no further comments, Open Portion of the Meeting Closed.
Consideration of Minutes:
Mr. Bordonaro, seconded by Mr. Boger, made the motion to approve the
,_ minutes of the regular meeting of September 18, 1978.
