-7- <br />Wilson Mills, SOM, and Ridgebury regarding the Village plowing their <br />sidewalk's, it was suggested Ordinance 814, entitled; "AN ORDINANCE REQUIR- <br />ING THE REMOVAL OF SNOW, =CE9 SLUSH, DIRT9 MUD, AND OTHER SUBSTANCES FROM <br />SIDEWALKS AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.", be enforced. <br />The Village contractor had plowed these sidewalks as a good gesture for <br />the safety of school children so that they wouldn't have to walk in the <br />streets. Ordinance 814 states the responsibility for cleaning sidewalks <br />is the homeowner's subject to a$25.00 fine. Mr. Braun suggested con- <br />tacting the school to which the Mayor replied it was not withi.n their <br />jurisdiction. Mr. Leech stated a choice would have to be made to either <br />shovel the sidewalks for all or not at all. <br />Mr. Leech, seconded by Mr. Davis, motioned to advertise for bids from <br />contractors for snow plowing when specific streets involved are received <br />from Building & Services Department. Boger, Bordonaro, Braun, <br />- Davis, and Leech <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Halloween: <br />The Mayor mentioned various newsletters received on door to door trick <br />or treating and the consequences of same; also, Chief Shortle in favor <br />of discontinuing such practice. The Mayor suggested a Vil].age planned <br />- party and tour through City Hall, Fire & Police Departments, etc. and <br />had requested assistance from Recreation Committee and/or Community Club <br />but to no avail. <br />Comments from the floor: Mrs. Bi11 Boger strongly urged not to advertise <br />this party in tho schools or we would be flooded with children. Mrs. <br />Ruth Gillis and Mrs. Robert Beebe felt block parties were beneficial. <br />Mrs. Prior felt it was more up to the Police to search out "crackpots" <br />and would not want to see legislation prohibiting trick or treating. Mr. <br />Davis suggested having Auxiliary Police and Firemen patrolling Halloween <br />night. Matter to be further discussed. <br />Arthur Miniello, 6198 Wilson Mills, was told by the Mayor his request <br />to have his property rezoned should be presented to the Citizens Master <br />Plan Committee, with anore specific information the zoning he wants. Also, <br />as previousl.y stated at Planning & Zoning, a Councilman has to i.ntroduce <br />his request to Council. Mr. Miniello, commented from the f].oor, by say- <br />ing he didn't specify what type of zoning he wanted as he wished to dis- <br />cuss with Council to find out their wishes.
