? <br />-6- <br />Mr. Bordonaro, seconded by Mr. Pr-ager, made a motion to suspend the <br />rules requiring an Ordinance be read on three separate occasions. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Messrs. Boger, Bordanaro, Davis, <br />Leech, Prager, & Schulte <br />1VAYS : None <br />Motion Carried <br />Rules Suspended <br />Mr. Prager, seconded by Mr. Davis, made a motion to pass Ordinance. <br />Roll Call: RYES: Messrs. Boger, Bordonaro, Davis, <br />Leech, Prager, & Schulte <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Ordinance Passed <br />General Matters: <br />Mr. Leech stated the Village and Richmond Heights were advised of <br />an increase in sewer rates. He then read contents of a letter <br />from the engineer explaining that only Hickory Hill would be <br />effected by such increase not the entire Village. <br />The Mayor reported there was an increase in police revenue in com- <br />parison to last year which was in part due to the additional patrol- <br />men. He also stated he rece3.ved a letter from the Ohio E.P.A. con- <br />cerning leaf burning which suggested compost piles. Also, a letter <br />had been received from a company offering leaf vacuum service at <br />5125/hour. Mr. Davis stated there is a park in Newburgh Heights <br />where?they take leaves and apply a solution so that within eight <br />weeks they become humas. Council agreed the suggestion should be <br />reviewed as well as whether our Service Department could pick up <br />bagged leaves and transport to subject park. Mr. Davis advised <br />the chemical can be purchased on the market. The Mayor concluded <br />after all details on subject wexe gathered, a mail.ing °â€¢might be made <br />to the Villagers on same.. <br />Mr. Bordonaro asked,that Ordinance 73-27 be given a second reading. <br />The Ordinance provides all zoning matters to be vott-d,..:on by the <br />electorate. He stated Solicitor Byrnes had advised the Ordinance <br />would be more meaningful if the Charter Commission adopted it. <br />Mr. Davis reported a public meeting had been held on the trailer <br />Ordinance and because of the respvnse, another would be held <br />Thursday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m. <br />Mr. Prager stated certain complaints on parking in the Aintree <br />areA were discussed at the last Safety & Serv.ice meeting. A study <br />was requested;according to Chief Shortle there is an Ordi.nance <br />which authorizes him to erect "No Parking"signs,without notice, <br />so it will be done shortly. ., <br />' The Mayor reminded that the Village street lighting is at a stand- <br />sti11 because of the C.E.I. strike.
