<br />-2- <br />Mrs. DelBrocco, a scout leader, commented from the floor: Highland <br />Heights made a bicycle path for $14,000 which included everything <br />and suggested Council contact a Councilman there. <br />Chief Shortl.e advised S.P.A.N. had drafted a bicycle Ordinance, which <br />a11 Councilmen have received, and hoped to act on same in January. <br />Truck Ordinance: The Mayor reported the Ordinance was still being <br />studied and asked Solicitor Byrnes to comrrient. Mr. Byrnes stated <br />a case was pending in the Supreme Court regardinq parking of trucks <br />on residential property and believes the court's decision will <br />assist in drafting the Village's Ordinanceo <br />NEW BUSINESS: Mayor Beebe announced a Santa Claus narade to be <br />December 23. <br />The Mayor asked Mr. Leech to comment on the subject of Building <br />Inspector. Mr. Leech said Council discussed at caucus the possi- <br />bility of Gus Amendola taking the positian full time after the firsi <br />of the year, mainly because of the extensive building going ono <br />Secondly, he would have the position of Administrative Assistant <br />which would place him in charge of the 5ervice Department and the <br />secretarial staff in the town hall, with the exception of the Fire <br />and Police Departments unless they are working for the Service Depart- <br />ment. He would report to the Mayor and Council and would alsn be <br />. the Building Inspector at a salary of $10,500 per annumo Mr. Byrnes <br />was asked to prepare an Ordinance ior Council to scrutinize. <br />COMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />Planninq & Zoninq: The Mayor reported no business came before the <br />Commission. <br />Safety & Service: Councilman Schulte reported another member was <br />needed for the Committee. C.E.I. property cleaned, street lighting <br />and parking in Aintree discussed; curb still not repaired on <br />Wilson Millsd Street & Roads reported Metro Park needed repai.r and <br />Beech Hill and Wilson Nlills have chuck holes. The "new business" <br />discussed was: utility pole laying on Thornapple; tree lawns on <br />S.O.Mo need cutting; mud on Beta Drive; no fire siren at noon; <br />various signs needed on several streets; vandaTism; polluted pond <br />on Thornapple. The Mayor asked Mr. Amendola to check into those <br />matters in the absence of Les Foltz, currently on vacation.
