8. Mr. Fitz-Gerald - Thinks that it is not a controversy. He is a member of the Civic League and has not been consulted. He has not seen the list of petitioners. He feels that this will complicate the situation. Mr. Bordonaro - This is the people's town. They would like to express themselves at the ballot box. Mr. F`~.tz-Gerald - If we remove the emergency clause, and let the people vote, how will they be informed - by inflammatory letters? He must object. Mr. Schmidt - Wondered why the " emergency clause" was inserted. Mr. Edelman - The ordinance amended a previous ordinance that contained the clause. Mr. Schmidt- Believes that any ordinance that any councilman introduces should be considered. Mr. Bordonaro, seconded by Mro Comella, moved that a public hearing should be held on June 24, 1969 to discuss Ordinance Noo 69-29. This ordinance will be referred to the Planning & Zoning Commission. Roll Callo Ayes - Messrs. Comella, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Schmidt & Davis. .Nays - Mr. Donaldson. Motion Carried Mayor Busa stated that the emergency clause was not put in for a purpose, but was a matter of routineo He suggested that it go to, the poles and let the people voice their opiniono Nlr. Schmidt - Would like the council minutes sent to Bob Deal, Chairman of the Recreation Committee. Mr. Schmidt read a portion of the April recreation minuteso He asked for physical support from the counil and the residents. Mro Lockemer suggested that the Recreation Committee be changed to the Reoreation Department. Mro Davis - Asked for a meeting of the residents and committee concerning the widening of SOM Center Road and the sewer problem, to be held as soon as possibleo Mro Fitz-Gerald suggested June 5, 1968. Mro Donaldson- Would like to recruit manpower for the Sesqui-Centennial. NIr. Comella - Would like for the Engineer to look at the size and design of the sewer on Robley Lane. Mr., Spillman presented a petition signed by residents of the Village. Mr. Edelman, the Solicitor, advised since t~e Ordinance Noo 69-10 was passed of emergenoy, that the Clerk-Treasurer not accept the petition, which Mre Lockemer did not accept. } Mrs. Boger- Commented on Mr. Schmidt's plea for assistance.
