~. <br />Most of the Councilmen felt if they were Councilmen in Highland Heights, they <br />would not have accepted the proposal as Highland Heights did. <br />Mrs> Gilles felt that this matter started with a highly inflammatory organization. <br />The people were being fooled and a few used to the point of near subterfuge. <br />Mr. Rickey referred tb the letter from the Civic League concerning the meeting <br />of representatives from civic groups and representatives from council. Mr. . <br />Rickey felt that this was not a true representation of the Village. <br />Mrs. Gilles stated that they were-an unknowledgeable group. Her feeling was <br />that we do not need Highland Heights for enemies or the Civic League for friends. <br />In reference to the question of Mr. Bordonaro°s vote " No" on the suspension <br />of the rules on the tiro informal resolutions, Mr. Bordonaro stated that he did <br />not think the two measures to be in that much of a hurry to be passed. <br />Mayor.Busa does not think that it is fair to put the Council on the defensive. <br />Mr. Shan~.farber would like to counteract a portion of the letter of the Civic <br />Leagues' concerning the polling of the memberships of the groups represented. <br />He did not have a chance , due to illness in his family to poll their group. <br />He objects to the Civic League using this point. <br />Service Department & Building Department Mr. D°Agostino <br />Mr. D°Agvstino reported the streets that were repaired last month. He also. <br />reported that a number of permits were granted. <br />Fire Department - Fire Chief Hejcl <br />Chief Hejcl reported a total of 10 calls for the month of July - 2 calls <br />were handled by the daytime fireman, this making a total of 59 calls for the <br />year as compared ~ 37:_for last year. <br />The Hydrants are being flushed. He reported that the top of the hydrant Yiad <br />been knocked off on the .one located in front of Mr. Steak House. <br />Police Department - Police Chief Shortle <br />Chief Shortle gave a report. of the number of traffic. citations,..traffic.complaints <br />mutual aid assistance and animal complaints for the month of July, 1969. Trey <br />have not received a report of the cause of the explosion at Deacon's. Automobile <br />Agency. A report is expected in a few days. <br />Village Engineer - Mr. Hovanesek <br />The Engineer said that he had checked out Kenwood North and was assured by <br />the contractor that-the work would be completed;. Mayor Busa asked Mr. Hovanesek <br />- to follow up on this matter. <br />Mr. Edelman explained that we had received three bids from banks for legal <br />depositories for the Village of Mayfield, and had prepared an ordinance.. <br />
