2.
Traffic Light at Worton Park - Chief Shortle is waiting to hear from the County. "Do
not block intersection signs" have been ordered.
Sewer Problem - Mayor Busa and a group of Councilmen checked the sewer situation at the
Bonnieview pumping station, March 14, 1970. Mr. Hovancsek has spoken to the County-Eng-
ineer, Mro Puzenski, about the sewer situation. The bids will go out in March for the
building of a million gallon tank on Bonnieview and Beech Hill. Mayor Busa does not like
the idea of the holding tank being built in Mayfield Village, and being used by Mayfield
Heightso It was suggested that the tank be covered. Mayor Busa had asked Mr. Puzenski
at the Public Hearing, the cost of the tank to the tax payers. Mr. Puzenski said that
we would not be assessed but an additional fee will be added to our water bill.
Mro Hovancsek explained that the problem was infiltration from the storm sewer. One me-
thod of correction would be to separate the sanitary sewer from the existing storm sew-
ero The cost of this would be prohibitive. Second suggestion is to increase the exist-
ing trunk that runs down Wilson Mills Road; third is to create a holding tank; sized for
continuing use. The county already owns the site in Mayfield Village, to move it to an-
other location would increase the cost. Therefore, the County recommends the holding
tank and Mra Hovancsek suggests that we wait until the plans are completed and review
themm Mr. Hovancsek will keep in touch with Mr. Fuzenski and inform Council.
Mro Schmidt recommended that the lease between the Village of Mayfield and the Board of
County Commissioners for the rental of a parcel of land for recreational purposes be
terminated, due to the fact that the property will be used for the building o~ a hold-
ing tank.
Mro Schmidt, seconded by Mrs Bordonaro, introduced Ordinance No. 70-15, entitledo "AN
ORDINANCE TO TERMINATE THE LEASE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY BETWEEN THE BOARD OF COUNTY COM-
MISSTONERS AND THE VILLAGE OF HAYFIELD."
Mro Schmidt, seconded by Mro Fitz-Gerald, moved that the rules of law requiring an ord-
inance to be read on three separate occasions be suspended.
Roll Calla Ayes - Messrs. Leech, Fitz-Gerald, Bordonaro, Boger, Schmidt and Davis.
Nays - None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mro Davis, seconded by Mr. Bordonaro, moved that Ordinance No. 70-15 be approved and
passed as read.
Roll Calla Ayes - Messrs. Leech, Bordonaro, Boger, Schmidt, Davis and Fitz-Geraldo
Nays - None
Motion Carried
Ordinance Passed
The County will be notified about this legislation.
Gates Mills has passed a Resolution calling the sewer situation a nuisance and re-
questing a building ban.
At the February 16, 1970 meeting, Mr. Schmidt was authoriz@d to attend a solid waste
meeting in Wisconsin. Mr, Schmidt learned that the expenses would be approximately
1$2b0o00, and that the same benefits could be derived from watching a movie on the sub-
ject, Mro Schmidt canceled his reservation.
Messrso Edelman, Fitz-Gerald, D'Agostino and Leech will attend the meeting at Columbus,
Ohio for the hearing #'or a liquor permit at 849 SOM Center Road, on March 18, 1970.
