1
2. Comminute Holding Tank Sewage
2.
The sewage which is to be by-passed should be comminuted prior to reach-
ing the holding tank. This could be accomplished by installing ~ 36A
comminutes adjacent to the Kennison nozzle. An appropriate building ,
with enclosed stairway to accomodate both units should be provided. The
holding tank could be lowered by approximately two feet to accomplish
the above. The communition of sewage would minimize the problem of
solids in the holding dank and should be chlorinated sewage overflow to
the stream, the solids will be well dispersed,
3. Landscaping
The perimeter of the Bonnieview site fence as well as the site itself
should. be landscaped with evergreens, ets. of proper height to effective-
ly screen the site.
After discussion, Mayor Busa, members of council and Members of the audience
agreed that we have a present sewage problem and do not like the idea of a
holding tank being built in Mayfield Village to accomodate the neighboring
municipalities. It was pointed out that the county does own the pumping
station although, it is located in Mayfield Village.. Alternate pl-ans to
move the holding tank or replace the--existing storm sewers would be an ex-
pensive proposition. Plans have been submitted to the county and to the state
for study. It was thought advantageous to-make our comments known in
Columbus.
Mr. Puzenski wi:l1 be contacted to see if he is available for a workshop.
Citizens of the village are invited to participate in this workshop. the
date will be announced.
Citizens front the village presented a petition which contained approximately
267 signatures , opposing the construction of an open sewer reservoir at
Bonnieview and Beech Hill Road. A copy; of this petition has been sent to
th Ohio Department of Health.,.
The Village of Mayfield has asked the county to drop the lease for the use
of the 10 acres for recreation. Mr. Davis thought it might be wise ~o ask
the county to erect a snow fence around the area.
Hilltop Sanitary Sewer Charge Increase -Mayor reported that the increase
in our water bill was due to the increase in maintenance from .26 to.30
cnets a lineal ft. and the charge of the City of Cleveland from Jan. 1, 1970
of $ 1.12 to 1.98 per 1000 eu. ft. of water for treatment of sewage..
Mr. Leech said that this was a standard increase in other municipalities
also.
Tap-In Report
1
Mayor Busa read the following front Mayor Stokes rules for tap-in permits:.
1. Septic Tanks - No water tap-in permits
2. Package Flants - No water tap-in permits
3. Suburbs in Interceptor System - Must sign an agreement with the County
first.
