IJ .. <br />61 <br />NEW BUSINES <br />Pancake.B.reakfast - May 10, 1987 - Mr..Basile said that since Mayor.Carmen <br />will.be out of town during the Pancake Breakfast, he will be handling it. <br />He asked all.council members and department heads if they could assist. He <br />said they should contact Donria to schedule their time. . <br />Fireworks =$5,000 for Village Days (Motion to Approve) - Mr. Flynn, <br />seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to approve the expenditure of $5,000 <br />for fireworks for Village Days. <br />Mayor Carmen explained that the underwriting received from businesses has <br />covered this expenditure in previous years; he expects that this expense wi11 <br />be underwritten again this year. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Approved <br />SPAN DUES -$2,500 (Motion to Approve) - Mr. Goley, seconded by Mr. Flynn, <br />made a motion to approve the 1987 SPAN dues. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Al1 <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Approved <br />M.C.I.C. - Mr. Patrick explained that this is a separate fund of the Village. <br />As such, it must meet the criteria for expenditures of a development activity. <br />Currently we do not have any commuriity development activities. Therefore, <br />Council has the option of leaving the account open, or closing it. 'Mr. <br />Patrick recommended that the fund be left open, as it is. In the event some- <br />thing comes up'that meets the criteria, the fund is open. <br />Mayor Carmen and Council agreed to keep the fund open. <br />First Class Mailings of V.O.V. - Mayor Carmen reported that Council has <br />determined to try a first-class mailing of the Voice of the Village. It <br />will be done as a trial to see whether people receive it more quickly, <br />and if everyone receives it. <br />Animal Warden - Mayor Carmen said the animal warden has submitted a salary <br />increase. He suggested.this item be discussed at the next Council Caucus. <br />Commission on Aging - Allocation of Funds - Mayor Carmen said that he has <br />received a request from Howard Schulz, Chairman of the Commission on Aging, <br />that $1,000 be transferred into the Commission on Aging account. He:urged <br />Council to approve this allocation. <br />Council approved the allocation of $1,000 to be transferred into the Commission <br />on Aging account. <br />, Parkview Goft Course - Liquor Permit Request - Mayor Car.men said we received <br />a liquor permit request for a change from the Ohio Department of Liquor <br />Control. It must be signed by the legislative authority and returned by <br />May 9. He suggested that Council hold a Special Council Meeting prior to
