t l? ? <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Council Meeting <br />August 17, 1987 <br />Page 7 <br />to put the sign closer to the road. <br />Mr. Basile asked Council what their pleasure was. <br />Mr. Flynn said he sees no reason for approval of a variance. <br />Mr. Petschauer agreed with Mr. Flynn. <br />Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Petschauer, made a motion to deny the request made <br />for a sign variance for the Jefferson Building. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Request Denied <br />Thornapple Pond - Mr. Petschauer said he believed Mrs. Smakula would like to <br />give the pond to the Village. He said it is a natural habitat for --alot <br />of wildlife and adds to the rural and aesthetic character of the Village, and <br />he thinks it would behoove the municipality to take it. He said he asked Mr. <br />Hovancsek to look at a 5-7 year long-term maintenance and upgrading of the <br />pond so it hurt the Village financially. <br />Mr. Amendola said at the direction of Mayor Carmen, he had spoken to Mrs. <br />Smakula about the pond. She had indicated.she was willing to talk to the <br />Village about it's maintenance. <br />Mr. Petschauer said Council had directed Mr. Feneli to check with Mrs. <br />Smakula about her definite feelings. Since D2r. Feneli had been given the <br />wrong name, he had been unable to check into this. He will contact Mrs. <br />Smakula. <br />Bicycle Path - Mr. Hovancsek said he had spoken to the project coordinator for <br />O.D.O.T. and they indicated to him that it should take about 3 days to complete <br />the final touching up of the sub grades for the bike path. Depending <br />on the weather, etc., they should begin putting down the asphalt for the bike <br />path, which is the final task. <br />123 <br />Mr. Petschauer asked if they.were also going to resurface the old bike path. <br />Mr. Amendola said that they were. <br />Historical Society Boundaries and Land Lease - Mr. Hovanscek said he is waiting <br />to have a meeting to be told whre the exact boundaries are so he can prepare <br />a legal description. Two easements are also needed. <br />Discussion was held. <br />Mr. Hovancsek suggested Council bring this item up for discussion at the <br />next Caucus; he must have Council input: <br />Ridgebury Boulevard Repair - Mr. Basile said this item has.already been discussed.
