i(OZ NEW BUSINESS Regular Council Meeting 9/16/91 Page Five Referendum Peririon - Mr. Ramos explained that a committee filed a petition with the Clerk of Council requesring that Council reconsider Ordinance No. 91-35. The Clerk of Council has certified as of September 4, that the peritions contain the sufficient number of signatures required by our Charter. Mr. Ramos said that within 30 days of such certification, Council shall reconsider the ordinance. He explained that Ordinance No. 91-35 is regarding the Parkview Golf Course (eminent domain). Mr. Ramos said that Council must reconsider the ordinance and must act on it in some way. If Council does not repeal it within 30 days (by October 3), then Council must take the necessary steps to place the ordinance on the ballot. Mr. Ramos said he suggests that Council take no acrion at this time. John Deere Loader - Morion to A1212rove - Mr. Ferrante, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to authorize an expenditure not to exceed $3,500 to Mahnen Machinery for the repair of a John Deere Loader. Mr. Amendola said the loader is a 1977. It is the only machinery we have to lift the salt to the spreaders. He plans to include a new machine in next yeaz's budget. A new machine will cost approximately $45,000. Mr. Pietrafese suggested Mr. Amendola talk to Baron Hydraulics about parts for the John Deere; he might be able to cut out the middle man next rime. ROLL CALL: AYES : All NAYS: None Morion Carried Expenditure Authorized Adler's - Morion to Approve - Mr. Pietrafese said all sponsorship funds have been collected which will cover the cost of the softball items purchased. Mr. Pietrafese, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to authorize the expenditure of $4,322.75 to Adler's Sporring Goods-for softball uniforms and equipment for the summer and fall Village Recreation softball programs. ROLL CALL: AYES: All NAYS: None Morion Carried Expenditure Authorized First Reading of Ordinance No. 91-43, entitled; "An ordinance appropriating funds for current expenses & expenditures Mayfield Village, Ohio, for the period for 01/01/91 and ending 12/31/91, repealing existing Ordinance no. 91-12 and declaring an emergency." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole. Mr. Ferrante, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
