\
165

Regular Council Meering
9/16/91
Page Seven
Mr. Ramos said they asked him to find out if they could get a one-year extension to leave the patio
dining. He told them he would talk to Village Officials. He explained that a judgment eniry would
be filed so it would apply to present and future owners. Mr. Ramos said he told them we need a
decision soon; we do not want to wait until next spring and be in the same situation; we are trying
to work with them.
Mr. Pietrafese asked if there was any way to tie in the patio dining issue with the legislation being
considered (regarding an extension to comply with the sign ordinance.)
Mr. Ramos said it can be passed on condition. If they do not agree to the conditions and if Council
dces not pass the ordinance and their sign is in violation, Gus is to cite them.
Mrs. Mills asked if they have hired a sign man.
Mr. Amendola said through conversation, they have. He is supposed to come in and see him
soon.
Mrs. Mills suggested placing the ordinance on first reading tonight instead of enacting it.
Mr. Rinker said they have until November 1.
Mr. Ramos said he will find out what progress, if any, has been made.
Mr. Fenante, seconded by Mr. Flynn, made a motion to withdraw their motion to enact Ordinance
No. 91-45.
Ordinance No. 91-34 to remain on first reading.
First Reading of Ordinance No. 91-46, entitled; "An ordinance granring anadditional extension to
Deacon's Chrysler-Plymouth, Inc. for the purpose of complying with Ordinance o. 85-16
pertaining to signs located on certain property known as 835 S.O.M. Center Road d declaring an
emergency." Introduced by Mayor Carmen and Council as a Whole. '
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an
ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
ROLL CALL: AYES : All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a morion to enact Ordinance No. 91-46.
Mr. Amendola explained that Deacon's sign is a different situarion. We are asking them to remove
the sign above his building and to place a ground sign in his parking lot. A variance must be
granted because it would be impossible to put a ground sign in the required location. Mr.
Amendola said their sign had to be made smaller. He explained that their sign is manufactured by
Chrysler and it takes about 8 weeks to come in.
