48
Regular Council Meeting
2/21/94
Page Fourteen
Mr. Hovancsek said the ditches north of Seneca, right now, do not have dump rock in
them. When the ditches will be completed, we are calling for dump rock to be placed
on it by the District. This, again, KM&M is asking for a change order at an additional
cost to the contract. That will be when the job is done. He had asked the contractor in
his review if they had planned on widening the road to allow the trucks in, and if he
did, he would have to put some temporary drainage in. His response was no, we are
not going to widen the road or put temporary drainage in because we don't need it.
Time will tell. If they cause a problem with the ditches, they obviously are going to
have to take some action.
Mr. Flynn said his point is that he would like to see them match the profile of our
ditches south of Seneca because of the severity of the ones north of Seneca.
Mr. Hovancsek said that will be what we will attempt to do.
Mayor Rinker said Jack Jay, in addition to the traffic, will be a first line to monitoring for anything we see that is unusual with the actual construction work itself. For example, if
there is any impairment of drainage, any question.
Mr. Hovancsek said yes, that is correct.
Wiley Park - Mr. Hovancsek said the Wiley Park plans are about 95% complete. We
have a set of plans here tonight to leave with the Village. We should have the plans
completed and ready to bid next week. He believes we will first contact the Corps and
run it by them to make sure that it meets with their approval.
Mrs. Cinco asked for motions to approve the following expenditures to Gibson Stewart:
$3,050 to Gibson Stewart for the emergency repair to the Bombardier snow plow
Mr. Fixler, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to approve an expenditure of $3,050 to
Gibson Stewart Company for the emergency repair to the Bomardier snow plow.
ROLL CALL: AYES: Mr. Busa, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Fixler, Mr. Stephens
NAYS: None
ABSTAIN: Mr. Basile
Mr. Basile explained he was out of town at the time.
Motion Carried
Expenditure Authorized
