235
Regular Council Meeting
9/19/94 ?
Page Three
Mayor Rinker said it is his understanding that is an ongoing project. They have
identified 9 residences (7 of which are in Mayfield Heights.) They must scope out and
try to get ideas of where the pollution is originating. He expects they will find other
point source violations; they are doing their job.
? Mike Garrett,1070 Washington Extension, said he has noticed quite a few dead rats that
M have been washed through it and have gotten hung up on his rocks.
?
Q Mayor Rinker said it is an ongoing project where the Board of Health comes out if rats
z are coming in from other locations. We have asked Mayfield Heights if there is
C something we can do. Mayor Rinker explained the Village needs to be advised of this
? type of information so we can get someone from the Board of Health out there.
Chris Sciranko. 6027 Ridgebury, said he knows the Village is doing its best--but during
a recent party, they had to bring everyone inside their home because the stench was so
bad. He asked why something can't be done about it.
Mayor IZinker saicl we can urge the authorities to take action. It is an extensive problem
beyond the Village borders.
Dave, 6115 Ridgebury Blvd., asked Village officials to tell them now what they can do
to work with the Village instead of fighting the Village.
Mayor Rinker said we depend on feedback. We are aware the Grahams have contacted
the County. The County must deal with the problem throughout Cuyahoga County. If
there is a question that they are not out there often enough, call us--we will call them in.
Beyond that, he is not sure what the Village can do.
IVir. Garrett said a substantial amount of frontage is on the School's property. He asked
if the School Board knows about the situation.
Mayor Rinker said he, frankly, does not know.
Mr. Garrett asked if the Village and School Board were to address the problem together-
-would there be a little more pull?
Mayor Rinker said he thinks it is significant it has been this many years to find 9 houses
in three to four months. He thinks the key is to make sure the Sanitary Engineer and
Board of Health are aware and continue maintenance. We must make sure we have a
good feedback.
