257
Regular Council Meeting '
10/17/94
Page Five
Recreation Board - Mr. Buckholtz reported they had a productive meeting.
T'he drainage of the ball diamonds was discussed with Steve Dragman
attending who gave some information that may be useful. Mayor Rinker also attended
this meeting and is concerned with the finances regarding some things Recreation is
C-0 considering. He has requested, that Recreation, in view of the fact of its rapid growth,
? give consideration to restructuring with regard to capital improvements to help this
Q growth continue. He suggested Recreation, as a unit, come up with a Master Plan,
writing proposals, coming up with dollars and cents for the programs that will be
z required. When this is finished by the Recreation Board, he will meet with them and
2 will present the information to Council.
Beech Hill- Mr. Cappello reported they received noticed that paving should begin this
Wednesday and last for two or three days. Cleveland Trinidad will be the paving
contractor. They will be distributing notices to the residents tomorrow morning as they
anticipate a short delay in exiting their driveways. Also, they are discussing possible
elimination of paving a short area near Bonnieview at this time as they will be tearing
up the area again next year. There is also an area near Wilson Mills. Mr. Hovancsek has
held discussions with Mr. Kritzer regarding these matters.
Mayor Rinker asked Mr. Hovancsek if the contractor is now backing off doing the area
north of the curb of Bonnieview where consideration was being given to grinding down
the surface.
Mr. Hovancsek stated he had written them a proposal and sent a sketch along with the
request. They had never agreed to the work. They did say they would consider it, but
the letter they received today states they will not pay for it. The area is much worse
now than it was before they started the work. They clearly have damaged the
pavement and he will speak to them tomorrow and get back to the Mayor. Perhaps
together, they can get something done.
Mr. Flynn asked if they are now to assume the relief sewer will come down the south
side of Bonnieview.
Mr. Hovancsek stated that no, it will come down an easement which is an extension of
Beech Hill directly south to the Mayfield Heights line. There is a concrete encased
sewer existing now in that area. It will go westerly in Mayfield Heights and will not
effect Bonnieview Lane.
