Regular Council Meeting
3/15/93
Page 6
Safety and Service - Mr. Fixler said the meeting came to order at 7 p.rrt. Mr. Amendola
has requested four new vacuum deaners at a cost not to exceed $800; the committee
voted unanimously for approval for this item. Mr. Amendola also put in a request for
landscaping around the historical house to cost a little over $500. Mr. Fixler said at Mr.
Amendola's request he discussed this item with Mr. Brett; and between the Finance
Director and the Mayor, the funds will be made available. The committee decided that
Florence Wall Cleaning, Inc. will be hired to wash down the walls and the ceiling of the
fire department. Their bid was $960.70. They have checked their references and
everything seems to check out fine.
Mr. Fixler said this was thousands of dollars less than the next bid. Chief Mohr would
also like Council to look at an ordinance regarding some sprinkler systems. The Fire
Department will be using the LoPresti home, west of here, as an educational facility
before it is burned down to the ground. The Blazer was originally on hold but Chief
Stevens has decided that the Blazer will be sufficient for their needs.

Water District Committee - Mrs. Cinco said they met February 17. She hopes to also put
Mrs. Leppla on this committee. The Worton Park Home Owners will be meeting on
March 31 at 7 p.m. in the Community Room to start addressing some of the problems
that they have on that end. Everyone is welcome to come; Council is encouraged to
come.
Mr. Busa asked if he could report on the meeting he attended at the Cuyahoga Couniy
Boarcl of Health. He said they are very concerned about the whole county--Mayfield
Village in general. They claim they have inspected 59 septic tanks in Mayfield Village;
47 units failed.
Mayor Rinker said it is his understanding the bulk of septic problems ultimately will be
resolved by the new gravity sewer system. He said the Village is currently trying to get
50% funding for this project because it is a monumental project.
Mr. Busa said they are planning to inspect the septic systems annually and charge a
minimum of $20 per year to do so.
OLD BUSINESS:
• Ward Distric" - Mrs. Cinco said in the Charter, there is a deadline of one year
from the time the census reports are made. She talked to Dennis earlier this evening
and he promised to pass that information along to Steve.
