Special Council Meeting
3/29/93
Page Three
Mr. Ferrante, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 93-15.

Mr. Amendola explained the basis he used in putting this together. When ordinances
are reyiewed they usually wait a year or two before they are finally passed. He thought
by using this method the committee could meet once a month, present information to
the Council representative and back Council. Every three months they would make a
final report before Council. They would have a chance to accumulate and go to the
ballot once a year. He said they could pick up those current items being discussed by
Council that require review by the Ordinance Review Committee.
Mayor Rinker said he has given this information to Council in their packets but would
like to share this with the people in the audience. They have decided to set up this
standing committee to deal on an ongoing basis as ordinance review is supposed to do
and often it is the last thing they get to in the month. They have made it comprised of a
cross section of our community and government. One resident is on for a 2-year period
per appointment of the Mayor and approval of Council; the Council President will
attend every meeting; there is a member from the Planning and Zoning Commission;
(again that is an appointment of the Mayor); the Building and Service Director attends
(in his absence another Department Head should be in attendance); and a member from
the Architectural Review Board. Mayor Rinker said the people he has asked Council to
confirm-if they can do this, they will make the confirmations and do the swearing in at
the next Regular Council Meeting--are as follows:
Resident Patsy Mills
President of Council Joanne Cinco
Planning & Zoning Commission Mark Kusner
Building Commissioner/Service Director Gus Amendola
Architectural Review Board Dorothy Buzek
Mayor Rinker said these are the recommendations made by Mr. Amendola. Mayor
Rinker said Mr. Amendola put a lot of thought into these selections and he thinks it is a
good cross-section of people.
Mrs. Cinco asked if Council will think about this and if there are any questions prior to
the next Regular Council Meeting to let them know; otherwise, they will plan to
approve them and swear them in at the April Council Meeting.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
