MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEE'TING OF COUNCIL <br />Mayfield Village <br />Apri112,1993 <br />The Council of Mayfield Village met in Special Session on Monday, Apri112,1993, at <br />eight o'dock a.m. ($ a.m.) in the Council Chambers at the Village Hall. Council <br />President Joanne Cinco presided. <br />ROLL CALL: Present: Mr. Basile, Mr. Busa (8:01), Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Ferrante, Mr. Fixler, <br />and Mr. Flynn <br />Absent: Mrs. Leppla <br />Also Present Were: Mayor Rinker, Mr. Hanculak (for Joe Diemert), Mr. Hovancsek, <br />and Miss Heath Unuer 40 Drainage Improvement Project <br /> <br />Mrs. Cinco said Mr. Hovancsek had said the estimated figure for the project included <br />engineering fees and easement rights. <br />Mr. Hovancsek said the project would ultimately benefit the Peirces and their pond. <br />The Village will need an easement from the Upper 40 residents to construct the <br />upstream detention facility. He has plugged in a figure of $20,000 for that. <br />Mr. Busa arrived at this time (8:01 a.m.) <br />Mayor Rinker asked that the correspondence of Apri19,1993, from Cleveland <br />Metroparks be incorporated into the record. He read excerpts from their letter <br />supporting the acceptance of financial assistance (as offered by D.O.P.W.I.C.) by the <br />Village. <br />Mayor Rinker explained the need for easements from the residents (the Merkels and <br />Simeks) for this project. He said it is not just a matter of cleaning the Peirce's pond, this <br />is needed in order to develop an effective water management control system. <br />Mayor Rinker and Mr. Hovancsek explained the course of construction. <br />Mr. Ferrante asked if the Village had the monies for this project and if Mr. Brett was <br />supposed to be at this meeting. <br />Mayor Rinker said Mr. Brett could not be here this morning. The monies are included <br />in the proforma. We must borrow the monies, but we have dollars earmarked for this <br />project. Mayor Rinker said he sees no justification not to proceed.
