Regular Council Meeting <br />4/19/93 <br />Page Eight <br />Nir. Amendola said it could be used for the Village Picnic and the Music on the Green <br />Concerts. He explained everything could be put on the trailer, the coffeepot and <br />popcorn machine, and the trailer could be pulled up and plugged im, and then could be <br />used. <br />5) Mr. Flynn said the Finance Committee also discussed Issue II. The Finance <br />Committee wants to move ahead with Upper 40 and the HighlandOS.O.M. projects. <br />They would like to hold off on the Composting project. <br />Mayor IZinker explained the Upper 40 project. He said the Village has been evaluating <br />that for the last four years. The problem has existed since the late '70s when there was a <br />flood. It will be a cooperative effort with the Metroparks. This is a 50% funding project <br />and the Metroparks will be involved in at least 1/3 of the work. We had to respond <br />with our request to apply for the funding by Apri116. <br />Mayor Rinker eacplained the Highland/SOM project is for the widening of S.O.M. <br />Center Road at Highland. The congestion gets worse there all the time. This project is <br />for 75% funding. <br />Mayor Rinker explained the EPA mandates and the composting project. He said this is <br />just an application; we said (on 4/12) that we will reapply for financial assistance for <br />this project. This project will allow us to handle a vast amount of yard waste. <br />6) Video unit for patrol car -Mr. Flynn said Mrs. Cinco felt Council could consider <br />purchase of one urut at this time. <br />Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Basile, made a motion to approve an expenditure of $5,000 <br />for the purchase of one video unit. <br />Mr. Fixler said a question came up at Safety and Service about private sponsorship. <br />Chief Stevens said he is still checking. They receive donations frorrt time to time and <br />just received a nice donation from a grateful resident. <br />ROLL CALL: A1'ES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br /> <br /> <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Mr. Ferrante said there was no report.
