Regular Council Meeting
4/19/93
Page Nine
M.A.R.C. - Mrs. Cinco said they met Aprillst. They are looking into insurance policies.
Their upcoming event is a irack meet; they are looking at some new ideas for summer
and fall along with archery and golf.
Ordinance Review - Mrs. Cinco said they will be meeting next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
at the Service Building. After that, they will be meeting the second Tuesday of the
month. They have requested that all requests for zoning changes or ordinance review
be given to Gus Amendola at least two weeks in advance.
Planning and Zoning - Mr. Basile said the Commission approved the landscape
drawings for the Mayfield United Methodist Church. Mr. Basile asked if notices have
gone out about the meeting on Apri122.
Mayor Rinker explained they were not sent because of the possible hearing starting
Thursday and maybe going into Friday.
Recreation - Mrs. Leppla said everyone on Council and Mayor Rinker received her
memo of Apri112 regarding the Recreation budget. She believes there is a
misconception. The Recreation Board feels their budget is acceptable for this year. She
was appointed to represent the Recreation Board. If the Recreation Board feels any
more monies are needed, she will not hesitate to come to Council to ask for that money.
Mrs. Leppla reported they have a new Camp Director-Kate Sullivan. She was the
Assistant Camp Director last year. Our camp is a unique and popular half-day camp.
Mrs. Sullivan is in charge of hiring assistant counselors. For each day she has a theme
planned. Counselors will be first-aid trained and will sign a contract of what is
expected of them.
Mrs. Leppla said about 200-250 people attended the Easter Party. The Recreation Board
worked hard on this event; about 50 volunteer hours went into this. The Board is "
wondering when the playground will be completed--is there a target date?
Mr. Amendola said it should be completed before Memorial Day. He does not know
what they will do about the rest of the area. Should it be completed as originally
planned? He explained his concern if the ditch is not opened up; if they experience
what they did last year, it will be a problem.
Mrs. Leppla said Mr. Amendola talked about giving the Board a grid.
Mr. Hovancsek said they took the topo readings so they would have something to go by
in terms of grading; the Board should have it in their hands in 4-5 days.
