Regular Council Meeting <br />5/17/93 <br />Page Six <br />Board of Appeals - Mr. Amendola said they were not required to meet. <br />Cemeterv - Mr. Fixler said the Mayfield Union Cemetery trustees met Apri128. The <br />trustees for this year are myself for Mayfield Village; Loretta Schmiit for Mayfield <br />Heights; Sam Scampitilla for Highland Heights. Mr. Scampitilla will also be acting as <br />the Treasurer this year. They have hired a sexton: jack Zicarelli. Mr. Fixler said <br />Highland Heights has picked the mowers up and are working on them and we are <br />hoping to get them back in good working order later this week. The sexton is also <br />versed in concrete work and he will be repairing any of the headstones that need to be <br />re-cemented. The three communities have decided to put in a new driveway. The cost <br />will be no greater than $2,350 which will be split between the three communities. Our <br />Service Department will be handling the installation. Flowers and a new sign has been <br />ordered. Everything should be in good shape before Memorial Day. <br />Mrs. Cinco asked what type of driveway and will there be grass remaining in the <br />middle to keep that old flavor look? <br />Mr. Amendola said the height of the grass in the center of the road is 4-5"; they will <br />have to cut that down so the road is even. <br />Mr. Fixler said in addition, there was a funeral there this morning. He is pleased to say <br />the three communities got together and worked out the different plot plans of how and <br />where this grave was going to be. <br />Citizen's Advisorv - Mrs. Cinco said they were not required to meet this month. Their <br />meeting will be next Monday, May 24, at 8 p.m. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa said the Director of Human Resources suggested that <br />on his vacation last week he missed one of the greatest parties they have had in the past <br />7 years. About 60 people attended and all received a delicious meal, door prizes, favors, <br />and an afternoon of music and camaraderie. Bocce, cards, and crafts are all going well. <br />Their next major event is to Pittsburgh, June 30. The summer picnics begin June 21. <br />Safety and Service - Mr. Fixler said they did not have an agenda for the last meeting. <br />giowever, they were unanimously in favor of allowing Gus to go ahead with order of <br />the truck which is on the agenda. <br />Finance - Mr. Flynn said they met this evening. They are recommending passage of <br />Ordinances 93-23, 24, and 25. Regarding the street reconstruction, there were two <br />competing contractors. The Committee recommends A&J Cement for this particular <br />job. It is on the agenda; he said they can go into the mechanics of that at that time.
