Regular Council Meeting <br />6/21/93 <br />Page Nine <br />Mr. Amendola said he has not heard from him; he will check and let Mr. Fixler know <br />tomorrow. <br />Mr. Fixler said the sexton has asked about getting the garbage (the yard material) <br />picked up at the cemetery on a weekly basis. <br />Mrs. Cinco asl<ed if there will be flowers planted. <br />Mr. Fixler said they were supposed to have been installed; he will check on it tomorrow. <br />Citizen's Advisorv - Mrs. Cinco said they met May 24 and went over a number of issues <br />including the referendum, composting and the new signs. They also discussed <br />reflectors, Arbor Day, and broken sidewalks. They are planning in the Voice of the <br />Village, again bringing to everyone's attention what the Citizen's Advisory Board's <br />function is; so that a lot of these issues (even those addressed tonight) can be brought to <br />the Committee. Then, the Committee can tal<e some of these things to the Village. Their <br />next meeting will be held july 26, at 8 p.m. <br />Commission on Aging - Mr. Busa said the Commission on Aging Director sends the <br />following message to Council: They are having a picnic tonight at the Community <br />Room, due to the weather. The next one is July 14. The trip to Pittsburgh on June 30 is <br />filling up. Sounds like a fun day. Cards, crafts and bocce are going well. <br />Safetv and Service - Mr. Fixler said he and Chief Stevens had a discussion about the <br />"Slow--Children at Play Signs" throughout Mayfield Village. They decided they would <br />try screen visible radar vehicles that would enable the motorists to see how fast they <br />were going. Safety and Service approved this idea. Since two areas were done; the <br />response has been tremendous and residents were very, very pleased. Mr. Fixler said in <br />speaking with Chief Stevens, this will continue throughout the summer and whenever <br />they deem it necessary. In addition, they discussed reflectors and are expecting a report <br />from Lt. jay. There was a re-approval of the RCS Radio equipment for the Fire <br />Department and discussion about a new vehicle which they were requesting for next <br />year. Service Department was requesting a land transport vehicle; Finance Committee <br />will report on that. Mr. Fixler said Safety and Service went ahead with their computer <br />system which would be approximately $4,500. Chief Mohr will program the system <br />which will save the Village approximately $1,700. <br />Finance - Mr. Flynn said they met tonight and discussed a number of items. They <br />recommended approval of the leaf vacuum repairs ($2,793.32). Regarding insurance <br />renewals, Mr. Flynn said they will have enhanced coverage in some areas. He asked if
