Regular Council Meeting
7/19/93
Page Seven
not really seen specifically what is going behind each of our homes. Mrs. Leppla said
we have good faith that Progressive will honor their promise to us to provide a visual
screen. Mrs. Leppla said she wants to go on the record that she will be approving the
plans with the provision that we look to the residents again in March and see if the
visual screen is satisfactory in case there might be a need for some spot planting.
Mrs. Cinco said Progressive would like this approved tonight so they could get started.
Mayor Rinker noted that he had in front of him the minutes of the Planning and Zoning
Commission of July 15. There was pretty extensive discussion about what was stated at
that meeting (in the minutes.) Mr. Kostelec has spoken a number of times to Worton
Park and to Planning and Zoning. We have been assured by Progressive that at the
iime that they start clearing the site in the buffer, they are really pulling out weeds and
dead growth. Instead of doing it lock, stock and barrel; they are going to go halfway, do
the plantings of the evergreen trees. Thereafter, they will be able to go through and
finish up the clean-out. Mr. Bader, who will be more or less the supervisor for the
project, has indicated he will get in contact with the Service Department and will have a
linkage with Mr. Kostelec, Mayor Rinker and with anyone on Council. He hopes we
will have some active communication when the time comes to mark out the site. It
looks like is a good plan. As Mr. Kostelec has said, it will be in the execution. Mayor
Rinker asked that the minutes of the Planning and Zoning Meeting of July 15,1993, b
incorporated into these minutes.
Mr. Flynn said, concerning what Mrs. Leppla said, Mr. Bloomfield is here tonight. Is
there any way to solidify that.
e
Mrs. Cinco said that is all in the minutes.
Mrs. Leppla said he spoke to that at the Planning and Zoning Meeting.
Mr. Basile inquired about the mound that was supposed to be built between the
Worton Park residents and Progressive Insurance.
Mayor Rinker, explained that the original idea of a mound was pretty much shelved
because it was determined it would not be practical (for drainage and planting reasons.)
The whole idea of the planting that is going in there is really site specific.
Discussion was held.
