Regular Council Meeting
8/16/93 Page Twelve .
Mrs. Cinco said to give her an idea of those to be involved as a group committee. She
said, I definitely think this needs to be set up, along with Steve and people you had, the
Police Chief and Traffic Officers.
Mr. Chokel sa'id at minimum, you have find to out how you are going to apply to Ohio
to request funds.
Mayor Rinker saici no one is going to disagree we, want less traffic and we want to
ameliorate it; the question has always been: at what cost. What is going to be required
to do this? Any indication I have had from discussions in deferring to Steve is that right
now we are very much at odds as to that should be done.
Mrs. Cinco said Council is just getting now the fundamental plans to start looking at.
Council is not ready to act on anything.
Mr. Chokel asked who would be the Committee they will work with.
Mrs. Cinco asked if we would be working along with Highland Heights.
Mayor Rinker said his personal opinion is Steve, Jack Jay and whoever would be an
opposite number for him from Highland Heights, certainly both Mayors and Council
Presidents. Mr. Basile said he received calls from irate citizens who wanted to know what we are
doing with Wilson Mills Road and he didn't know anything about it.
Mayor Rinker said exactly.
Mrs. Cinco said this was slated for Caucus. Once everyone got back from vacation and
could put the information together so that Council could study it. As you said yourself,
a lot of these figures just came to you today.
Mr. Fixler said this was not slated for Caucus; it was slated for August 16 which is
tonight. He told me himself personally and I wrote a letter addressed to you that
specifically said they plan on discussing it tonight. Anyone who feels these residents do
not or should not have an opportunity to come here and be informed that this is going
to be discussed and get in the ground floor rather than being talked after the fact. I am
sorry, but I have a real problem with that situation. They have just as much right to be
here as anyone.
