Regular Council Meeting
8/16/93
Page Fourteen
Park and just zip right into Progressive drive? If so, that would make it impossible fox
us to ever get out of the driveway in the morning. You have four lanes going in for
your dedicated road right now--is that correct?
Ivir. Chokel said one in, 3 out.
Mr. Bencic said the largest road in Mayfield Village is 5--and you are asking for a 6-lane
poad comulg out of your building. That means you would be the laxgest road in the
Village.
Mrs. Leppla said a lot of residents have been complaining about this traffic problem for
as long as she has lived there (which is over 7 years) and I know a lot of residents will .
be saddened to find that it took Progressive's building to get someone to listen.
A resident in the audience asked if there is anything being built (like a left-hand turrung
lane) into Worton Park going west like a center lane--are there any provisions for
Worton Park at all in consideration of your plans?
Mr. Hovancsek said there is not.
The resident asked if there can be something drawn in.
Mr. Cholcel said that becomes a signal light issue.
Discussion was held.
Mrs. Cinco said she thinks we need an awful lot of looking at this.
Mr. Bloomfield said this is not Progressive's plan. This is been evolving out of State of
Ohio, N.O.A.C.A., Steve Hovancsek, our Traffic Consultant; don't look at this as just
Progressive. This is the result of a lot of experts looking at this intersection and coming
up with what they thought was the best plan.
Mayor Rinker said there has been absolutely no endorsement of this plan by Mayfield
Village. One of the primary concerns he sees of any proposal is the jam it makes for any
of the side streets. There are just too many entrances that are staggered in the very short
distance between joyce and Worton Park, Alpha, Builders Square and the Front Row
area. He wants to find out where Highland Heights comes into this; he cioes not see
how anything can get done without the cooperation of Highland Heights. To re-
configure the road is probably trading off one nightmare for another. I live in Worton
Park and it is something that concerns me very much. There is no question in my mind
that this is something very sensitive to our area.
