Regular Council Meeting
9/20/93
Page Four
Mr. Amendola said the storm damage we had is not over by a long shot. He toured the
Village and found about 8-101oads of branches. B.F.I. has located a site that will take
large sections of trees from us. We must clear stumps of soil and cut the stumps in 4
sections before they will take them. We dvill require 5-6 gondolas which will cost the
Village $400 per load to take them out. The chipping of the branches is continuing.
Chipping will not be completed for about 7-9 days. The back yards are still full of
branches.
Mayor Rinker suggested putting something in the VOICE OF THE VILLAGE and
reminded everyone that articles are due Wednesday.
Mr. Hovancsek reported that the Upper 40 drainage detention facility site has been
investigated. It is essentially the same the site as the Ravine site. Due to the topography
in-that area, it is not advisable to move it. The ideal location would be where it was
originally proposed (at the Ravine site.) The 1978 and the topo in the area is consistent.
The property owner thought that the topo may have been radically changed, but it
really hadn't.

Mr. Hovancsek said the Ravine storm outlet construction is nearly completed. The
contractor should have that project completed within a week.
Mr. Hovancsek reported the Beech Hill culvert and Bonnieview site plan for grading
have been submitted to the Village Planning and Zoning by KM&M. He is beginning to
review those plans. Plans for the Worton Park sanitary sewers are being prepared at
this time.
Bids were received for sealcoating the Village Hall site, Wiley Park and the Service
Garage site (except for the major entrance road which is in bad shape and should not be
sealcoated at this time.) The low bid was Pavement Sealers, Inc. at a total cost of $6,005.
Mr. Hovancsek said the Village Engineer recommends that item be approved this
evening. (That would be for sealcoating, striping and putting on the handicapped
striping as required for code.)
Mr. Hovancsek said regarding the Highland/SOM Intersection; the contractor A&J
Contracting has been approved by the Ohio Public Works Commission. The amount of
his bid was $517,798.10. The County Engineer's Office indicated they will be paying
50% of the construction that is over and above the amount being covered by the Ohio
Public Works Commission. (They will be paying over $90,000 as opposed to what was
reported earlier of $63,000.)
