Regular Council Meeting : <br />5/20/96 <br />Page 5 <br />SafeW and Service - Mrs. Cinco said they met May 6 and discussed additional <br />personnel needs. They suggested Council hold a special Caucus to address concerns. <br />Under the Service Department they discussed several items (some are on tonight's <br />agenda.) T'hey had preliminary discussion about the Fire Dept. landscaping. (See <br />S&S minutes for details.) <br />Finance Committee - Mr. Marquardt said they met this evening. They recommend <br />approval of the following: <br />1) 1995 audit - $10,000 <br />2) Alder's - for softball equipment -$9,995. Mr. Marquardt said they have <br />requested an itemization of these expenditures. <br />3) Trolley rental - $3,600 <br />4) Printing of 75th Anniversary Program -$5,000 <br />5) Rating Service - Moody's - $6,500 <br />6) Street Striping - $10,424.40. <br />7) Air Compressor - They deemed $4,800 is reasonable for used equipment <br />and recommend passage. (from Phillips Day & Maddock) <br />Hillcrest Council of Councils - Dr. Parker had no report. - <br />Historical Societv - Dr. Parker reported that post holes are in place for the <br />handicapped ramp. House painting depends on weather. <br />M.A.R.C. - Mr. Buckholtz had no report. <br />Ordinance Review Committee - Mr. Marquardt said there was no meeting and none <br />is scheduled. <br />Planning and Zoning - Mr. Ferrante said the Commission met May 6. A proposal <br />for a front patio for Austin's was considered. It was unanimously NOT approved. <br />They also considered Section 1339 of the Code in reference to insulation <br />requirements. The Commission recommends Council approve that. They also <br />recommend approval of the garbage disposal/incineration legislation. <br />Recreation Board - Mr. Buckholtz said the Board met Wednesday. The summer <br />camp enrollment is up to about 93 kids now. They will also hold a drama camp. <br />They are shooting for 20 kids; they are at 15 now. Softball enrollment was good but <br />distribution wasn't quite good enough for the new age groups. They are planning <br />the race for Sunday, july 7. Progressive is interested in participating in the race and <br />possibly making a race within a race. They will be having some prizes of their own.
