Those who wish to speak
must first state their name and address. This open portion is limited to discussion
pertaining to the items under "Old Business" only.
Cellular One Proposal - Mr. Carter said we were here a couple of ineetings ago. At
that time, Council asked us to get further information on several issues. Mr. Carter
said we are here tonight to present that information. The first item was regarding
the technical reasons why we need the site. He showed Mayor Rinker and Council
propagation studies created by a computer model. The study showed propagation
sites as they currently stand in nearby communities (Richmond gieights, Euclid,
Willoughby Hills and Mayfield Heights) which were color coded to show adequate
coverage for car units and inadequate coverage for portable units. Some 70% of the
phones being sold today are portable units with a lower power. The lower chart
shows what happens with service if they put the site they are tallcing about at 150' at
the Service garage location.
Mr. Carter said the next issue was the visual aspects of it. He showed photographs of
the Mayfield Heights tower taken from similar distances and the proposed tower
superimposed over the view.
Mr. Carter said the third issue they were asked to address was the possibility of
making our tower available for other providers. We have had discussion with
another provider who has expressed an interest in locating on this tower which
would eliminate the need for a second tower within the village limits.

?I
?J

Regular Council Meeting
5/20/96
