Regular Council Meeting <br />October 21, 1996 <br />Page -8 <br />1VIayorRinker said we can always call a special meeting. lIe wants everymne to be comfortable with <br />this. A motion to authorize the annual allocation to the Commission on Aging in the amount of $4,000 <br /> <br />1V1r. Busa, seconded by 1V4r.lVlarquardt, made a motion to authorize the annual allocation to the <br />Commission on Aging in the amount of $4,000. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Wilson Mills Corridor <br />Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />Mr. Cappello said Noce Enterprises was the low bid in the amount of $664,669.00 We received an <br />extension from the OPWC for the contract time to finish next July. They will probably start in <br />approximately two weeks on just the portion on removing the median in front ofProgressive. If <br />they have some more time, they might extend that lane to I-271. <br />A motion to authorize the release of the retainer to Pavement Technolog_v in the amount of $748.35 <br />1VIr. Busa, seconded by Dr. Parker, made a motion to authorize the release of the retainer to <br />Pavement Technology in the amount of $748.35. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Expenditure Authorized <br />A motion to authonze the release of the final payment to Panzica Construction in the amount of <br />$13,669.25 <br />Discussion was held about the concrete problems in the new station. There are cracks where the <br />large trucks park. The cost to repair the problem might be higher than the final payment. <br />1VIr. Brett said we have their reta.iner-he feels the bonds are sufficient so we could release the <br />final payment. <br /> <br /> <br />1VIayor Rinker said it is a complete building. They handled the problem with the mezzanine <br />professionally and quickly. VVe will watch the concrete area to see if the cracks expand.
