Regular Council Meeting
February 15,1999
Page 10
Mr. Brett said he wants Council to be aware that he did not consider anything from his second
paragraph down-as being a concern with Night Vision.
Mr. Muhlbach said they will coordinate that with the contractor. Their feeling is if they are putting
in aerial lights that we coordinate electrical so they could be added in the future.
Mr. Marquardt said night swimming was discussed again at Recreation Plaruiing. Many people
think we should take it into consideration and that we may be making a mistake. The first question is
comments from Council relative to the interest in the lighting for the night swimming.
Mr. Fixler said he is not in favor of it.
Mrs. Cinco suggested seeing what the cost is.
Mayor Rinker said the last time we discussed this, there was not a great cry for night swimming but
we don't want to preclude the option. He asked if it was possible to put a receptacle so you could
come back at a later point and put in poles.
NIr. Muhlbach said there are lighting controllers and things that need to be coordinated in size now
to accommodate the future:
Mr. Marquardt questioned if the same poles could be used.
Mr. Muhlbach said he does not think we will be able to with the aerial lights they are putting in. Our
original night swimming light has 6 poles, so do we put junction:boxes in for thaf type of lighting or
do we put junction boxes in for a more deeorative lighting? _(Sports-type lighting is about $47,000
but more decorative lighting will run more.) We will riot look at the credit later on because we will
be putting area lights in that will be in there already. _--
Discussion was held. - • _. ,
1V1r. Marquardt said Council would-like=-to _look at-the options and look at it at the next Council
meeting.
Mrs. Cinco sugg.ested_Council rece&e'the-information Urior to the Council meeting so they will have
time to research it and ask questions. '
=-
-Mr: Tvluhlbach agreed.
--'-N1r.-Busa brought up staffing and maintenance-' we-should crawl before we run.
