Regular Council Meeting
4-19-99
Page 9
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 99-13.
Mr. Busa said this ordinance conflicts with the exhibit attached.
Mr. Diemert said the chart is projecting years ahead. Council is only approving the pay for the
1999 period. Since the ordinance does not refer to an exhibit or incorporate it as an exhibit, it is
not part of the ordinance. He believes it was given to Council for informational purposes.
Mr. Thomas said-someone had requested a salary schedule at the Caucus. All he is asking for is
what is included in this salary ordinance. At some point he will make a recommendation for
higher salary ranges.
Council President Marquardt confirmed that the table is not part of the ordinance.
Mr. Diemert suggested information such as fhis schedule be given to Council under a cover
letter; not attached to the ordinance.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Ordinance Ena.cted
First Reading of Ordinance No. 99-14, entitled; "An emergency ordinance establishing certain
fees and admission charges for the Parkview Pool in the Village of Mayfield during the 1999
season." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole.
Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a motion to suspend the rules of Council requiring an
ordinance to be read on three separate occasions.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mr. Buckholtz, seconded by Mrs. Mills, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 99-14.
Mr. Diemert said this ordinance has an "Exhibit A" that belongs there. He said the ordinance
Council is considering should have a(2) because it is a revised draft.
Mr. Busa said he does not like the idea of charging our residents. Progressive gave us one
million dollars to build the pool. We paid two million. We will maintain and staff it and then
charge our residents who pay taxes--not to mention we invite people in all towns--8-9,000 people
