Regular Council Meeting 6-21-99 Page 4 Second Reacling of Ordinance liTo. 99-20, entitled; "An emergency ordinance creating Section 537.21 of the Codified Ordinances pertaining to the possession and use of laser pointing devices." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. (First Reading 5-17-99) Council President Marquardt said Ordinance No. 99-20 will remain on second reading. Executive Session (personnel matters) Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to recess into Executive Session to discuss personnel matters. Roll Call: AYES: All NAYS: None Motion Carried Council went into Executive Session at 8:20 p.m. Council reconvened at 9:14 p.m. Confirmation of Council At-Large Appointment Council President Marquardt entertained a motion to nominate a replacement for the Council-at- Large position to complete the term vacated by Mark Fixler (through December 31, 1999.) Mr. Buckholtz nominated Carmen Ilacqua. D)r. Parker seconded the motion. Council President Marquardt asked if there was any discussion. Roll Call: AYES: All NAYS: None Motion Carried Mrs. Cinco said along with her yes vote she wished to encourage all the other candidates; she hopes to see lots of participation in the upcoming election. Mrs. Mills said she feels the same way; she hopes they all take out petitions. Dr. Parker said he echoes the same sentiment. Council President Marqu#t ?4ic? vyo ?iqd 4 very ?t?o candidates and only.one position. It was tough decision for Couiicil to select a candidate. Council made the decision to select Carmen Ilacqua. Council President Marquardt congratulated Mr. Ilacaqua. He said this is for the remainder of Mark Fixler's term--the Council At-Large _term which will expire December 31, 1999.
