Regular Council Meeting <br />6-21-99 <br />Page 4 <br />Second Reacling of Ordinance liTo. 99-20, entitled; "An emergency ordinance creating Section <br />537.21 of the Codified Ordinances pertaining to the possession and use of laser pointing <br />devices." Introduced by Mayor Rinker and Council as a Whole. (First Reading 5-17-99) <br />Council President Marquardt said Ordinance No. 99-20 will remain on second reading. <br />Executive Session (personnel matters) <br />Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mrs. Cinco, made a motion to recess into Executive Session to discuss <br />personnel matters. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None Motion Carried <br />Council went into Executive Session at 8:20 p.m. <br />Council reconvened at 9:14 p.m. <br />Confirmation of Council At-Large Appointment <br />Council President Marquardt entertained a motion to nominate a replacement for the Council-at- <br />Large position to complete the term vacated by Mark Fixler (through December 31, 1999.) <br />Mr. Buckholtz nominated Carmen Ilacqua. D)r. Parker seconded the motion. <br />Council President Marquardt asked if there was any discussion. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Mrs. Cinco said along with her yes vote she wished to encourage all the other candidates; she <br />hopes to see lots of participation in the upcoming election. <br />Mrs. Mills said she feels the same way; she hopes they all take out petitions. <br />Dr. Parker said he echoes the same sentiment. <br />Council President Marqu#t ?4ic? vyo ?iqd 4 very ?t?o candidates and only.one position. It was <br />tough decision for Couiicil to select a candidate. Council made the decision to select Carmen <br />Ilacqua. Council President Marquardt congratulated Mr. Ilacaqua. He said this is for the <br />remainder of Mark Fixler's term--the Council At-Large _term which will expire December 31, <br />1999. <br /> <br /> <br />
