Regular Council Meeting
March 20, 1995
Page Three
North County Trunk Line, there is something he wants to make very clear. This
body of Council members, Mayor and Engineer are working very diligently to put
together a package that will be very beneficial for all of Mayfield Village in the
coming years. Mr. Fixler said a lot of the comments that evening were way out of
line and he believes there was untruth to them. Mr. Fixler said he wants anyone
who this affects to understand that we are looking for the least expensive avenues to
convert the septic systems to an actual sewer system. Anyone who thinks
differently should contact anyone on Council, the Mayor, or anyone else. This is
something that we do not have a choice. The amount of septic systems that fail in
this community is astronomical. This needs to be addressed and we are addressing
it in the best way possible.
Building - Mr. Samac said we have just received today the completed drawings for
the proposed addition to the Community Center building, bid forms and specs are
being drawn up. We should be ready to advertise for bids by the end of the week or
the early part of next week.
Engineer - Mr. Cappello said Mr. Hovancsek and Mr. Amendola have reviewed the
Village streets for the 1995 street program and the estimates for what they suggested
are in progress now.
Law - Mr. Diemert said he has passed out to all Council members and the Mayor a
copy of the outline for assessment procedures. It is generic in nature and could be
applicable to most all projects.
Finance - Mr. Brett said this evening we have three pieces of legislation for the sale
of notes. He has passed out to all Council members the sale of those notes prior to
each of those ordinances being presented. He will be presenting a fiscal officer's
certificate in conjunction with each of those pieces of legislation (there are three in
total; one for 2.8 million, one for $100,000 and a second for $100,000.) The rate that
we secured today (he will present those now so Council will have a chance to
review them before the legislation comes up for a vote) is 4.5% on the 3 million
dollars. The bidding was very competitive. Mr. Brett said he is very pleased with
this rate and is open for questions.
Mr. Fixler suggested if anyone wishes to discuss further, that questions can come up
when they go through the legislation.
