Regular Council Meeting
4/24/95
Page Ten
Recreation - Mr. Buckholtz said the Committee met April 19. They discussed the
Easter Party and supplies for the Playground Program. They discussed procedures
for receipts--which will go through their Treasurer. The volleyball courts were
discussed. There were some questions as to the definite plan for construction as
they did not have an opportunity to actually meet and vote on a plan. It is his
understanding there is a gentleman here who will speak to us a little bit later about
a plan. The idea of new members coming onto the Board was discussed which he
would like to discuss with the Mayor. It is unclear as to is on and who is not--there
has not been a great turnout at some of the meetings.
Sewer Liaison Commission - Mr. Buckholtz said we have not had a formal meeting
of the Committee, but we have been attending a variety of sewer meetings. We
have been working with residents of the Worton Park area. The first neighborhood
committee will be the committee to review the specs. We are trying to get a
structure for how you go about a neighborhood project that we can take to other
neighborhoods throughout the Village.
re Fire Station legislation later on agenda - Mr. Ferrante asked Mr. Panzica if there
was something he would like to address Council on.
Mr. Panzica said on Friday the Village and Panzica Construction Company received
bids on the first three bid packages for stage one construction of the Fire Station at
770 S.O.M. Center. He passed out a preliminary project budget. He gave the Law
Director two copies of proposed contracts. Mr. Panzica cited the company names and
amounts of the low bidders bids for the first three set of packages. The grand total of
phase one is $645,126. With approval of the Law Director, they will have the
contractors prepare the bonds and insurance forms.
Mayor Rinker asked the timetables for Phases 1, 2 and 3.
Mr. Panzica said Phase 1, with Council's approval, will start two weeks from today.
Vacation of the homes will be next week. The balance of the contract documents
prepared by the architect will be ready by late May, the bidding period is 2-3 weeks.
Mayor Rinker said they have been keeping track of the progress of this project
through the weekly minutes. He has utmost confidence in the way Mr. Panzica has
been approaching this.
