Regular Council Meeting
4/24/95
Page Twelve
Mrs. Cinco suggested Council reject the bids tonight since they know they have no
intention of putting this amount into that building.
Mr. Flynn, seconded by Mr. Busa, made a motion to reject the bids.
ROLL CALL: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Bids Rejected
Green Ribbons on Poles Throughout Mavfield Village - Mr. Flynn said these ribbons
conflict with Section 1185.03 of our Codified Ordinances. The Levy Committee
contacted C.E.I. and put them up. They have been removed from Highland Heights.
Mayfield Heights does not want them. He thinks we, as Council, must follow our
Codified Ordinances and ask that they be removed or have our Service Department
remove them. Mr. Flynn said he was rather surprised to see the Superintendent of
the Schools putting the ribbons up himself.
Mayor Rinker said he is not sure it is as clear-cut as Mr. Flynn says it is. This is a
matter the Law Director can review for us and asked Mr. Diemert to do so.
Progressive Landscaning - Mr. Ferrante said he had a call today from a resident in
Worton Park. He would like to see Mr. Kostelec inspect the landscaping behind the
five homes on Worton Park. He understands they have stopped their landscaping.
He would like them to pick back up again and do the things they promised those
residents they would do.
Mayor Rinker said we knew six months ago that Progressive had gone way over
their budget; that anything since that time was what the Village had done. He had
asked Bill to poll the residents in that area as to the kind and type of materials we
could put in there. We aren't asking Progressive to do anymore because they have
satisfied their portion.
Mr. Buckholtz said the landscaping has fallen a little bit short of the expectations of
the home owners. They are very appreciative to what the Village and Mayor Rinker
has extended. They thinks they are saying it's not the Village's responsibility, but are
referring back to some promises made by Progressive previously. He spoke to
Chuck Chokel who said as far as the planting, they were done. There is some
ground cover and drainage. Apparently, they are involved in a legal dispute with
the landscaper they are working with. What we are trying to find out is what exactly
is going to be done. Mr. Buckholtz said he talked to Chuck Chokel and suggested
