Regular Council Meeting <br />5/15/95 <br />Page Eleven <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />?- <br />? <br />Motion Carried <br />Authorization Given <br />Consideration of Sign Variances at 760 Beta Drive -(1) HEIGHT - An 8' height variance <br />for a temporary sign with a 9-month time limit from the time of application (March); <br />and: (2) COLOR - A color variance for a temporary sign with a 9-month time limit. (For <br />Ostendorf-Morris.) <br />HEIGHT - Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Fixler, made a motion that Council accept a <br />height variance of 8' for a temporary sign with a 9-month time limit from the time of <br />application. <br />Mr. Flynn asked if that 14' is above the roof or the front wall facing the freeway. <br />Mr. West said it is on the wall facing I-271. It is to replace an existing sign which is <br />currently resting 14-18' above the grade of the parking lot. The former sign is 18' from <br />the parking lot surface. <br />Roll Call: AYES: All <br />NAYS: None <br />Motion Carried <br />Variance Granted <br />COLOR - Mrs. Cinco, seconded by Mr. Buckholtz, made a motion that Council accept a <br />color variance for a temporary sign with a 9-month time limit. <br />Council President Fixler asked what the color combination will be. <br />Mr. West showed a sample of the sign. The sign will be facing the freeway. <br />Roll Call: AYES: Mr. Buckholtz, Mrs. Cinco, Mr. Fixler <br />NAYS: Mr. Flynn Motion Not Carried <br />Variance Denied <br />Mr. Fixler said the color variance is not being approved this evening. He explained that <br />there are only 4 members here this evening, but 3-1 is not a majority. It would require <br />a 4 member approval to go ahead with that. Mr. Fixler said we may have a special <br />meeting coming up. We could address it then or at the next formal Council meeting <br />which will be the third week in June. <br />Discussion was held.
