Special Council Meeting
6/29/95
Page 2
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Rules Suspended
Mr. Busa, seconded by Mr. Ferrante, made a motion to enact Ordinance No. 95-36.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Ordinance Enacted
Council President Fixler asked for a motion to amend the agenda for the following
reasons:
1) to discuss the proposal by a communications company who would like to
put an antenna at the Fire Station
2) to talk about a potential change order for the Fire Station
Note: These amendments are in addition to the items listed on the Special Council
Meeting agenda.
Mr. Ferrante, seconded by Mr. Buckholtz, made a motion to amend the agenda to
include the items (as stated above) per Couricil President's Fixer's request.
Roll Call: AYES: All
NAYS: None
Motion Carried
Agenda Amended
Nextel Communications - Council President Fixler said he and Chief Mohr met
with Nextel Communications today. He explained that they are going into second
generation communications where a cellular phone will serve as a paging unit et
cetera.
Mr. Fixler said the letter he received indicated they wanted to construct a 120"
antenna at the Fire Station site. Mr. Fixler said he and Chief Mohr discussed it. If
they construct this 120' antenna, it is basically the same height as what we have
currently. They have indicated willingness to pay for more--if not all--of this
antenna if we allow them to construct this antenna. Council President Fixler said
we have a few options: we can lease out space for cellular service; we need to
construct a 10 x 12 or 10 x 20 equipment room adjacent to this antenna. It appears
that not only will they pay for the underground phone system and actual wiring
they will need, it also appears they will help pay for construction or lease space from
